Am I still the only one out there playing Oblivion?
This game is fantastic if you like how free form it is and don't mind dungeon crawling and grinding.
I just completed (finally) the main storyline earlier last week (i'd done all the other achievement related quests) and then played through the main storyline of the Shivering Isles and got all of the achievements there you can get on a single play through.
For anyone wondering if Shivering Isles is worth it - then let me tell you, yes, yes it is. Especially if you can get the released in stores hard copy for Xbox 360 because it also contains Knights of the Nine, which (from what i've read) is a pretty kick ass quest in itself.
Also about Shivering Isles - if you own an Xbox 360 and a copy of Oblivion, go out to your local video game rental store and see if they have the "GAME OF THE YEAR Edition" of Oblivion. This includes a second disc containing Shivering Isles/Knights of the Nine. I have confirmed that you can rent the GotY edition and simply install the Shivering Isles/KotN expansion to your hard drive. Then all you need to do is return the game. I don't know about your guys local rental places, but i go to one where if you return a game or movie the day after you rent it you get credit to your account.
So I got Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine for like $2-3 dollars. But let me say that, yeah it's honestly worth the price tag they want for it ($30).
Shivering Isles features a lot of quests similar to that of regular Oblivion...but the setting is different and you have new locations so it's a nice change from boring old Tamriel. Also there a new items to be had including new ingredients for alchemists. I maxed out my alchemy like 40 or more hours ago, so the new ingredients didn't interest me that much, other than the fact that a fairly common plant in the Shivering Isles has "restore health" as it's first property - pretty kick ass for master alchemists.
I'm a scrub though and really only make Restore Health, Restore Fatigue, Restore Magicka, and Damage Health potions.
I plan to complete Knights of the Nine after I find all the Daedric Artifacts in Oblivion (like 14 quests?). Now that i've beat the game i've been checking out the Oblivion wikis pretty heavily for other shit to do in the game. Basically i'm looking for quests to get cool items or quests that were downright fun (which pointed me to the direction of the Daedric quests...i had no idea those existed).
Anyone get any of the other extra DLC? a lot of it sounds dumb, it's basically a bunch of houses that are probably more useful early on in the game. I'm going to download the Wizard's Tower one though, because it looks kick ass and i'm tired of living in the Slum that is the Imperial City waterfront (thought it has served me well).
Maybe I should just play an MMO?
Anyway. Just wondering if anyone else was still playing Oblivion. I'm still having a kick ass super fun time doing it and I even stopped playing for like 6 months.
