Ok so this whole "Joe Plumber" thing was new to me today. But I think I understand it.

So there is this guy Joe, and he's kind of like the 'Joe Six-pack' Palin keeps talking about, only a plumber and a real person. Someone interviews him after he asked Obama a bunch of questions and he spouts a bunch of 'thinkin with yer gut' comments and suddenly people are treating him like his opinion matters a whole lot. McCain talked about him a bunch apparently.

Well this guy, Joe Wurzelbacher, turns out he's not a registered voter (or plumber, but the verdict is still out).

Thats pretty fucking funny. I guess he would vote for McCain... if he could.

edit: more good shit about Joe

Even more about Joe the plumber.

McCain planted this dude. Pure and simple.

The FBI and IRS should investigate old Joe the Plumber because he got paid under the table for sure.

It's just so trashy that frankly I can't believe anyone would say it. And I certainly wouldn't identify myself with it.

If my life revolved around my dead end job and all i had to come home to each night was a six pack of some shit Annheuser Busch beer I think i'd just fucking kill myself.

Can you imagine Joe Six Pack being mentioned in previous elections? (Okay, so maybe with Bush.) I agree with Richard Lewis on The Daily Show last night -- this election is surreal. There can't be any chance that McCain could possibly win with this ridiculous strategy in 2008.

Planted or not he's right and his taxes will go up. His business makes over 250K a year, so he is being PUNISHED for making too much money. I can't think of anything more Un-American. 250K for his business, not his take home pay. Redistribution of wealth just boggles the mind, if you are going to do that, do it right and don't pretend to be a Capitalist Society and just control all spending. You work hard and your money is taxed, then you pay property taxes, what's left you put it into the bank and it gets crappy interest at best, then that's taxed, then you go and spend your cash and it's taxed again. And then that money is spent on other goods and then THAT money is taxed, enough. If Joe Six Pack has employee's, some may be let go becuase of that tax hike.

Are you sure his taxes will go up?

The lack of a tax cut means the taxes will stay about the same. And if his taxes are too high, maybe the fucking guy should learn how to itemize his deductions like a real american.

Now with McCain, the idea is his taxes would go down because he's richer than other people. Your daddy likes McCain because McCain will wipe your booboo for you. Obama won't and you don't like that. Good. You're a little bitch and we know it. Now go ask your daddy for some defense blood money.

Actually, the only part that would be taxed higher would be the part over $250,000, as you know. Also, since the guy DOESN'T like to pay his taxes anyway, he won't pay anymore..

Here's a little story about how it would actually work for Joe The Plumber:

http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=885575

He'd get a 50% tax credit to pay for his employees' health care, and have a 0% capital gains tax.

If you don't like redistribution of wealth, then you shouldn't like the bush tax cuts. They are the biggest redistribution of wealth in our history.

And you know what?
Under the Obama plan, everybody pays lower taxes than they did under Reagan....
Does this tell you where on the Laffer Curve we are?

And for posterity, the biz has only been shown to make100k a year and Joe the contractor (he's not a plumber) would be better off under Obamer.

Abolish the income tax.

Yeah that sounds like such a great idea.....
The main purpose of the government to protect wealth and property. So lets have people with no wealth and no property pay the same amount.

The only person screaming and crying like a baby here is you, bitch boy.

And taxes are a non issue. They weren't an issue during Clinton's years, and when Obama is in office, they won't be an issue either. It's a carrot on a stick to lead jackasses like your inbred father around.

Wow, Profanity and name calling. People use these tactics when they run out of words. You don't know my family or me for that matter except for this text. Taxes WILL go up, in place tax cuts WILL expire, that's a TAX HIKE, Obama stated that he wants to tax people who make money and give it to people who make less, sorry, that's Socialism, I am more for McCain now then I'll ever be. You can call me what ever you want, but you really show lack of maturity and tact and just seem to be jumping up and down and screaming at this point:oh_no:.

E, Obama stated that he wants to tax people who make money and give it to people who make less, sorry, that's Socialism, o.

Taxes on the rich will be lower than under Reagan....

So are you calling Reagan a commie?

I think that this short read best illustrates your point

He was worse! :tickled:

He was in Dark Victory though...which was remade in the 70s starring Elizabeth Montgomery, so via 6 degrees of movie separation, Regan was pretty cool :emb:

Mark Crispin Miller, author of "Loser Takes All," was on Bill Moyers Journal this week talking about voter fraud. He says that all of the recent media attention and investigation into ACORN is nothing more than a pure propaganda campaign perpetrated by the likes of Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and the McCain campaign, and I believe it.

The guy I work with in my office loves to print out stories from the right about ACORN, and has been leaving them on my desk for months now, and all of it strikes me as nothing more than rightwing smear. Miller seems to know a lot about voter fraud, and everything said on the show this week seems to jibe with what I've read and know about ACORN and the voting situation in 2004 in Ohio.

There just doesn't seem to be any evidence that ACORN is anymore than a voter registration initiative that compensates people for registering people, and therefore is subject to phony registrations. Miller says this doesn't constitute voter fraud because they are only registering false names, not doing any actual voting. This whole thing seems to be nothing more than another desperate attack on Obama's character and perhaps even yet another one of the many attempts at voter suppression from the right.

Yeah, this whole Republican rumour (still in its larvae stages, no less) about voter fraud and ACORN is hilarious.

I mean, it's not like they outright stole an election in 2000 or anything. Fuck.

They are only guilty of Voter Registration Fraud.

Ann Coulter is guilty of VOTER FRAUD.

Anyhow, this all is just kitchen sink startegy in Ohio to slow down voter lines in Black Neighborhoods.
