Yes I am waiting to do so and registered. I find it really hard to argue politics on a Video Game web board. You simply cannot get a point across. It's just like yelling about whose god is the best and so on. The only thing that works is to vote.

Why not post WHO you are going to vote for and why?

Because it's my business who I'm voting for. Telling you isn't going to change things. At the end of the day, everything will still be the same. However, we'll have your posts here to remind us how you spent your day.

In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem. From time to time we've been tempted to believe that society has become too complex to be managed by self-rule, that government by an elite group is superior to government for, by, and of the people. Well, if no one among us is capable of governing himself, then who among us has the capacity to govern someone else?

Why is it wrong to discuss politics on a gamer board? We are people, we are no different than those posting in a car forum/ sport forum/ music forum/ etc. Just because we prefer to play the Neo-Geo than with a baseball doesn't mean a single thing.

Election year is always a time for hot blooded debating and lots of shouting and at the end of the day one side will be bitter and for warm of the coming storm while the other side dances with joy....until the other side ends up being right (E.G. 2000, 2004)

I already lost 5 minutes of my life that I will never get back

10/05/2008

NEVER AGAIN!

A lot of your arguments against immigration are off in that he is arguing against ILLEGAL immigrants. Nothing against legal immigrants at all. Those original immigrants that came here in the 1700's fought to create this country, they did not come here illegally and then use the system to their advantage and cause a $200 Billion drain on the economy. That is his point.

What is wrong with having a national language? Most European countries have their own language and it does in fact unify them as a country. National Flag, colors, language, laws, customs, uniforms, it's an identity and really cannot be argued. Arguing against a National language is simply ignorant. Illegals do not want to assimilate, they want to earn as much money as possible doing menial jobs and then send it home. They come here, they make money, they leave for a bit to go back to their families, and they come back again for more work. They use the system we pay for and give nothing in return. None of this is legal, how can anyone ignore this? Totally take advantage of the system. Believe it or not many of them have returned to their respective lands as the economy is so bad, which is the bigger problem. They do not want to learn the language, they do not want to become part of the system, just reap the benefits, this is just a fact, its hard to fault them for wanting to earn a living for their families but at the expense of the U.S. Tax Dollar is just illegal. The fact that we tolerate this is just absurd and to be attacked or to be called bigoted to call attention to this fact is a major issue and a lack of unification. It is Un-American; please tell me how having illegal aliens and a $200 billion tax dollar penalty as a result of it is anything but?

You are right about the U.S Constitution being the unifying factor, the trouble is the Constitution has been tread upon lately or simply ignored. Again Language is a unifying factor IDK how you can argue otherwise.

Foreign Aid and illegal immigration is the main basis of his argument, I don't understand why you would call it bigoted, he is a nationalist. If we started taxing the illegal’s and immigrants here, and we stopped giving aid to foreign countries, we could pay off our financial emergency bailout in a year or two. These issues stem from the fact that this country is NOT unified.

Nothing wrong at all, it's just futile and gets nothing done. All it does is brew arguements and flames when none of us really have the facts straight. If you enjoy the debate then by all means post whatever you'd like, I just thought it would be interesting to see who is going to vote for what candidate and why. I think that is a great place to start.

We vote by secret ballot homeslice.

I'm not sure what Banana Republic you came from where you had to vote for el Presidente with your own blood on the ballot in public (lest you get shot by the secret policia) but that is just not how we do it here.

I don't tell people who I vote for because it is none of their business.

I mean, if others are fine with talking about who they are voting for then I don't really care.

Why don't you start - who are voting for?

Constitution Party is my guess.

I hate when people emphasize the incorrect word in their sentences. You probably speak this way as well which is why you have a problem communicating with people.

This is still going, wow!! Just go out and vote people. It's all you need to do.

WOW, this guys attitude is SPICEY HOT!!!! They don't call him wasabi for nothin'! Look out!!!

I just think that if people are going to have political discussions I think we need to know where they stand. Some people just like to argue for the sake of it and switch sides just to rant. There seems to be a lot of arguing based on speeling and proper enunciation. How about we argue about why we feel the way we do and where we are comming from when we make that opinion. I am not saying to draw a party line with a RIGHT/LEFT discussion, but where you stand on the polical spectrum would help a great deal.

Who are you voting for?

Answer your own question first.

HeartlessNinny, obviously The Daily Show is left-leaning (the audience demands it) but I don't think it's too biased. They do take the time to make fun of the liberal side when the material is available. Bill Maher was on last week saying a lot of anti-religion things, and you could see that Jon was backing off from the topic because he doesn't want his show to go as far to the left as I would like it to. Just because Jon demands answers and accountability from our leaders doesn't make him a die-hard liberal. Liberals have adopted him as an icon, but that doesn't make him the ultimate embodiment of the left.

Comparing the show to Fox News is not fair.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who has a McCain Palin sign in their yard is engaging in passive racism. Anyone who saw the Republican convention could see exactly what the party stands for at its core: The interests of white Protestants and basically nobody else. If they truly believed in conservative principles about the free market and small government then I would respect them, but it's clear that the party is instead about "values" that a certain majority of the country apparently shares. If you're not part of the crowd you're the enemy. A young black person growing up in poverty watching that party on TV can see that these people do not represent anything with cultural proximity to the world they live in. A white Christian voter in Iowa is content to live in their white world, ignoring the cultural variety missing from it, without considering the needs of other groups. It's a kind of willful blindness that the Midwestern white person engages in where they think that "as long as I'm fine that's all that matters." It's a backward and broken party that needs to be redefined or dissolved. As far as I'm concerned anyone voting Republican is taking part in it. If you have a McCain Palin sign in your yard you might as well have a holocaust denial sign. That's what I see anyway.

Actually, that's not true....
Those "Values" are of a very successful and vocal minority.

That's why they call it "family values" and not "Cristian Fundamentalist Principals".

Both candidates closed weak. McCain didn't get the win he apparently needed tonight.
