When we were settled - Aboriginal treatment was administered by the pommies as you probably already know. Aborigines nowadays get twice the income of a normal person, cheap meds, accomodation, house affordability. They're also entitled to a higher amount of centrelink payments similar to welfare. Pay little to no tax etc.

The video is stupid, but it's not far from the truth as shameful as it is to admit. Some Aborigines receive their government weekly payments, spend it on booze and then go around being a nuisance in society wrecking and stealing things. In turn this has created a social stigma of how they are perceived around Australia. It is a fucking stupid video though.

You're wrong about the Chinese, or Asians in general. We treat all races equally. We like their food more than the other nations and they brought as Jackie Chan so how could we stay mad at them.

In terms of how terrible white Australians were to the Aborigines Bobak you have no right to point the finger at us especially as what has been done to them is not that disimilar to what white Americans did to the native American Indians.Both countries here tried extremely hard to exterminate their respective indigenous populations and you would be hard pressed to find a country on this planet that doesn't have shamefull acts similar to ours in their past history.

As to what has been happening in eastern Australia recently i can't really get my head around the hate for Indian students as we don't see any of that here in the west....tensions in Australia between the middle eastern races and white Australians have been building for many years as we have been a dumping ground so to speak for much of the middle easts so called refugees which usually turns out to be the rich ones that can bribe their way to the top of the immigration lists and keep the more deserving refugees at the bottom.9/11 almost certainly changed the way western societies view people of middle eastern origin and muslims in general,it certainly has for me.

I'm pretty sure that what is going on in Iraq at the moment has more to do with protecting US wealth than any real desire to bring democracy to the middle east.
But our troops are there with you as we have been in all your recent wars so we are just as guilty if thats the case.JMO

Probably not but that is what the British said when they sent boatloads of "convicts" here several hundred years ago....the fact is that the majority of these "convicts" were Irish,Scottish and Welsh dissidents that had dared to speak up or make trouble for the Monarchy and government of the day back in England and were sent to jail on trumped up charges then onto the boats coming out here so they would shut the fuck up.So yeah we are probably a bit backward and ignorant in some things but we'll get there sometime in the next 50 years i expect.
