It's absolutley ridiculous to spend $100 on getting yoru AES modded, or getting a Super-Neo.

All you really need are three things:

- An AES RGB SCART cable
- RGB/S-Video convertor box (avaliable from Lik-Sang.com)
- S-video and audio extention cables.

Simply hook up the RGB cable to your AES, and plug into the S-video box, add the extention cables to plug into your TV, and whammo, a clear crisp picture! for less than 50 bucks!!!!

* Does not include the price of shipping.

You know a Super Neo*Geo also means the Debug Bios as well right?

*Sighs this shit is getting old fast...

The Neo*Geo debug bios chip allows one to access Neo*Geo home cart games' "hidden" or "locked out" features--features which normally not accessible on a home cart system. For example, the player can use the new bios to boot the Neo*Geo as a U.S., Japanese, or European home system OR MVS system. To go into the Bios you would simply take controller 2, Hold Select and Hit C. If one owns a standard U.S. Neo*Geo cart system, for instance, and boots any Last Blade 2 cart, blood, finishing moves, and extra animations (deemed too violent for the U.S. market by SNK) are removed. With the debug bios, one can simply boot the game in a country or system mode that removes these restrictions (I.E. Japanese home setting). The MVS system setting offers the exact changes the arcade version game would provide, for better or for worse--training modes can be eschewed for unlimited credits, and sometimes the occasional hidden character is locked/unlocked. This can also have a similar effect to a country mode change regarding censorship.

It's not just used for cheating. Research that bios a bit more before calling it a cheat device....

wait a tick i dont understand... if your sending an video composite from the system to some box and then from the box to the tv. the signal still has to go through the composite wire which results in a crappy picture... is this not ture?

Modding the console gives a much better picture (and sound, with the stereo RCA plugs) than using a bunch of cables. I'm sure that stringing together a RGB cable to a converted box will degrade the signal, no WAY would it look close to an actual modded console.

What's the difference in the previous s-video modded Neo's and the Ultra mod that Arcade has now?

Using the headphone jack for stereo sound is the same thing as the stereo mod. That I know.

On another note, could someone tell me how much better exactly the picture looks in comparison to the base home system? I've been thinking about getting the system super modded, but I don't know if the picture is really that much better. Thanks.

I think you should go to Eolith's office and picket outside until they put Eiji back in. It might take a few years, but I'm sure you can wear them down. ;)

Hey I get to plug my old arcade mod FAQ. Ok so maybe it is archived.

http://web.archive.org/web/20010218044600/www.hti.net/~bigbruno/amod.htm

It has pictures of some of the stuff you could do with the game Circa 1996.

Wonder if i can update it form the archive site ;)

You can actually select Eiji with a modded console in KoF 95 or AoF 2. Check it out. Those are the only two games he's playable in.
