Lining up or camping used to be fun. Not sure why people are doing so for this low effort upgrade. Wii had twilight princess and wii sports, wii u nintendo land, and switch breath of the wild. I guess I can get horny for a mario kart that has more vehicles that aren't karts.
And Wii wasn't a low effort upgrade? It was a GameCube with a new controller.

It had twilight princess hype though. Gamecube version wasn't out yet. Hardware wise it had a cool new gimmick. Wii Sports is still the shit and this is coming from someone who doesn't like wii motion controls all too much.

The switch 2 is literally the epitome of a super low effort console even more than ps5 pro. No real inovation Its just a slightly better switch with 80 dollar games. Games you may or may not own due to Game key "passes". The VRR feature probably doesn't work in docked mode. The upscaling with AI slop may or may not be free. Which is one of main reasons I would want a switch 2 for higher fps. Pay to play tutiorial game. Still no voice chat use shitcord. No hall effect sticks for joycons so enjoy stick drift. Lots of more stuff but for sake of brevity I'll stop here.

All of this shit being revealed near the end of the presentation earlier this month. I've never seen a presentation blow all their good will in such a short amount of time.

That said I do want to play metroid prime 4 and duskblood. I'll pick it up when there is some actual fucking games on it. This fucking artwork is horrible though and looks like baby's first deviant art cover. I think AI may have drew this and named it. Beyond prime, beyond chicken!

I don’t understand why this thing doesn’t have hardware-based BC.

If I had a top specific complaint it would probably be this.

Because it just feels like it will open the door for them to throw up their hands at some point and say "Welp, we tried" before basically doing the equivalent of the PS3 hardware revisions that eliminated BC.

Especially if they get a decent enough user base established on the Switch 2. After the first big reveal and I kinda felt like they blew it, I wondered how many devs would just continue to make 'Switch' games since it was BC on Switch 2. But now that it isn't guaranteed to work they don't have that safer fallback to the bigger userbase.

On the other hand, I did find out apparently all of our Switch 1 joycons will work on Switch 2 which is nice, I thought I needed more controllers, but I guess I'm good for now.

Also ordered a carry case (for the handheld portion only not the all-in-one), and a tempered glass screen protector to slap on that shit day 1. I've seen what these mongrel children can do to a Switch used primarily as a handheld.

It's nice to know my 34 switch 1 joycons would work on the switch 2, if any of them worked at all

What? The hardware had a built in exploit, that's probably why

It would also cost even more, and you can emulate a switch on a 4yr old phone. No-one would have done it

Yes let's put a whole Nvidia shield in there also.
🙈 Jeez

I think the system looks nice, but the game key card issue sucks. It is annoying enough on the PS4 managing space, and having to do it on a handheld is worse. The Switch's best feature to me is the small download sizes and small storage spaces. It will be the same issue that I have on the PS4, by the time the download finishes I am already off doing something different.

I think the new Mario Kart looks really fun, I like idea of World Tour mode.

So presumably Switch 1 pro controllers will work on Switch 2?

The chipset they went with isn't natively compatible. TryIng to get one that is powerful enough and backward compatible probably would bring up the cost. It's a balamcing act.

Also, the graphics chip doesn't support 4K120hz.

Never run a game hardware company

Yeah, I'm a dumb-dumb. Just look at Sony and MS losing all that money because they opted for hardware BC.

Maybe you need some Nvidia Deep Learning Super Sampling™.

Phew, for a second there I was worried I was going to buy a console designed by fake.

The previous models were the same architecture you spastic, both CPU and GPU - this isn't
It might still be ARM based with an Nvidia GPU but it's hardly a shield 2. Why wouldn't you just emulate it. Never run a business.

Also, the emulation is 99% perfect apparently anyway, so why would you even want hardware BC when you can't really even tell. You nerds sometimes

All choices they made.

Why fly a kite when you can just pop a pill? Can you really hear the difference between your silly little record player and one that costs half the price?
