It wasn't completely random. Every character's name was put in a hat, and you drew three names from the hat to make up your team.

They could port NGBC perfectly, and that wouldnt make it a worthwhile game. Shit I actually really like KOF XI, I just can't believe how stupid they decided to make the win system. Theres nothing more dumb then loosing a match because of that.
