This thread needs a bump.

I actually have money again, so if you guys want to do stuff on Monday, I'm up for it. :)

I close tomorrow, so I'll miss anything that goes on.

@Chris, though: I am going to be available after 4 today, so if you want to hit up Jersey's or something for happy hour or if you'll already be in that vicinity if you still head up to Dark Tower for UFS play, let me know and I'll head down that way after work.

Just got off the phone w/Dom-chan. She's going to head over to Sahara/Decatur around 2pm, hit up Tower/WOW! for a new CD, and then go to Dark Tower Comics. I'm going to try to arrive at Dark Tower between 2:30 and 3pm; I'll be bringing my UFS cards w/me. Happy hour (4-7pm, iirc) at Jersey's sounds great. Who else is free today?

I'll head over to Dork Tower today around 2. Still no word on where Setsuka went. Got a funny story as to why not.

I've got a few bucks in my wallet, so I'll try to cobble a new deck together.

Heading over to Dark Tower again today. Should be there by 3:15 or so. Anyone else free?

I was in the middle of a test when you rang Chris.

Oops. Forgot to turn it to mute.

Update: The frame's done. I still have to install the shelf mounts, then the floor beams and one or two cross braces. It's a lot easier for me to install the shelves before the beams and brace(s). Since this is effectively a commissioned piece, I want to consult with you Todd, at the sunday/monday get-together, about shelf height before I begin installation.

Anyway, here's some numbers: The internal dimensions are 18"D, 25 1/4"H, 36"W.

Due to the positioning of the fasteners, the shelves can be no lower than 3 1/8" and no higher than 20" off the floor.

The shelves is 16"D x 32"W, for 512^2" of real estate, each, and the floor has 15"D x 36"W for 540^2" of real estate.

Personally, I would prefer to install only two sets of shelf mounts, one at 8" and the second at 16". Since there's so much ^2" to work with, having three shelves is overkill.

Two shelves would definitely be enough. Anything else that couldn't be fit on the shelves themselves could easily go on the bottom floor of the cabinet. We'll go over height when we all get together again, but I say as long as one of the movable shelves has enough over-head space to allow an MVS to be placed there with carts in it and be able to move back and forth free, it's all good.

Edit: Scratch that. I'm just gonna sleep in today and hold out for next week. It's that time again. :D The 29th annual Banana Day celebration is upon us soon.

@Dash no Chris, don't worry about calling me back and such. I shall be in touch later on next week.

I want to build a custom control box for my arcade cab's control panel using these sticks and buttons.

Can the control box be done after toshiro's hamabachan?

With the two-shelf design-revision there wll be room for the MVS + carts on either shelf or the floor. Chris' 4slot MVS + carts needs only 7 3/4" of clearance, but there'll be 8 1/2"+ to work with, so you'll have plenty of room (assuming that whatever MVS you'll get will have the same form-factor, height-wise).

The one question that has been plaugeing my mind is (and is directed to both Chris and George): who will I owe for all this? lol

I'm not sure if you are building from materials that were purchased at the same time as the ones used for the original Hamaba-chan (or stuff left over from that endevor) or if you have footed the bill this time for building materials. I just want to be able to get out of the way if owe you or if I owe Chris on this. Second question is if the conversion unit to convert the video and audio signals to AV (or whatever connection can be used) can be included in with the cigarbox? I'm not worried about getting anything else with it. Boards and MVS carts will fall onto me, obviously, but having myself all set up and ready to go would be sweet.

Edit: Okay, well Chris pretty much answered my question tonight on both fronts. I just have to figure out how much is owed to Chris for parts and materials and how much is owed to George for putting the whole thing together. I'm looking to spend upwards to $300 on this whole endevor, to be paid in installments, so you guys can divide that amongst yourselves when it comes down to that point.

Those would be the light up Sanwa sticks and buttons.

The point though, is that sometime in the future, I either want a proper astro city 2p control panel or a proper 1p Astro City control panel. I want to remove the versus city control panel off of it and put it to use SOMEWHERE...

I just wanted to throw out something:

Adam, Nathan, Lime, you've been invited to come along for the 29th annual Banana Day celebration. It'll be on the 22nd (I gotta work the 19th), and there will be movies and possible Japanese foodage.

PM me if whether or not if you'll be able to attend. :)

Yeah, that was the seller. Okay guy to buy from?

Edit: From the searches I've done around here, it seems yes, but his stuff can be a bit dirty. Better stock up on gas dusters.

I'd crack open the MVS case and see if you need to go indiana jones on it.

Are the cases just screwed together? If so, then I'll have no qualms about popping it open and getting whatever might be in there out.

Yeah. It's just screwed together.

the label looks legit, so try not to damage IT.

The thing is, is that Yaton(see the threads in the Feedback and General Discussion forums on him), tends to sell out really really dirty carts, the kind of dirty that can interfere with game operation. A thorough scrubbing will remove dirt and make sure it's playable.
