I'm going to recommend grabbing dinner at somewhere like Buffalo Wild Wings, and discuss V2 of the Hamakibako.

I'd be down for Buffalo Wild Wings.

I'm free today and Monday, but I won't be able to host anything at my place this week. Any of you lot who've bought UFS cards interested in meeting at Dark Tower early-to-mid-afternoon today? (I've been wanting to fine-tune the deck I've been playing at the Tuesday tournaments at Hosehead's Hobbies) and maybe happy hour at Jersey's after?

I'm working a closing shift tonight, so I'll completely miss Happy Hour at Jersey's. But, if you guys head over to Cyberpunx after that, I can meet you all over there. I'd love to host everyone for Monday, but my place is a mess right now. So, if anyone else likes Taiki's idea for Buffalo Wild Wings, we could go for that.

The one that's sorta near my house on E Craig, it's about block east from the Home Despot where I got my Compound Miter saw and about a 10minute drive for me.

I drive a _motorcycle_ and that would kill my tank of gas (and it's not a crotch rocket, either.)

All BWW are located near a highway, most are near the 215 beltway. The area has to be within a certain $$$$ income for the owners to place a BWW in an area. Looks like your SOL Chris. You need to move to a better neighborhood or move closer towards the highway.

I'm gonna grab a quick shower and then call Toshiro at the end of his shift. What's the plan, then? BWW in BFE? or some place closer to Cyberpunx and Toshiro's apartment?

EDIT: Left voicemail and a numeric page for Toshiro; still waiting on his reply. As an alternative to BWW, there's always Wingstop -- 6 locations in the valley, with one right over here at Nellis & Stewart. For future Mondays, we could also consider The Crown and Anchor (on Tropicana, just east of Maryland Pkwy). Happy hour is M-F 3pm-6pm (and again after midnight), but Mondays they also have all-you-can-eat fish & chips.

Progress report: Assembly of the frame is 88% done. I just have some odds-and-ends left and then I'm ready for the joy of working with the MDF.



Also, I would like to discuss purchacing new tools for the project. My personal investment in the project is over $300 for just tools, so far. I've spent the last couple of weeks studying various wookworking techniques (like, various ways to make shadowboxes or mounting big lexan windows, for instance). Unfortunately, since I'm currently not drawing a paycheck, I don't have any way to get the cash to buy the gear to do a lot of that really cool stuff.

However, I mentioned (to my sister's boyfriend) the idea of happy hour (3-6pm) at Crown & Anchor w/all-you-can-eat fish&chips -- he's rather keen on it. We're picking him up at the airport shortly. I'll post an update as things get discussed tonight.

If anyone's interested in meeting up w/us, ingesting cheaper-than-normal alcohol and copious amounts of dead livestock, and seeing the new wheels & tires I got on Saturday, that's where we'll be.
