I may not make it over to Dark Tower Comics in time for the 5:30 starting time for today's SF/SCIII UFS CCG tourney, although I am going to try to show up anyway, if only to hang out. I have to pick up Hightower at the airport at 3:20, and then we and the rest of the family are going out for late lunch / early dinner.

EDIT: (sigh) if I show up there, it may be even later. Just found out that we won't be going to dinner til 5pm, since that's when the restaurant we're going to starts serving the special we're going for.

Yep, did that on Easter Monday (the mohawk and the arrow stayed around just long enough to snap some pics). I haven't shaved my face or scalp since -- I'm letting these two areas race each other. I'm curious to see how quickly things grow back and what I can do with the hair in the meantime. I'm planning to go bald-shaven again the first week of July and mid-August (Mr. BIG cosplay for Anime Expo and EVO2006), and probably again when I go to Japan for New Year's.

BTW, it's looking less likely that I'll be able to make it to Dark Tower Comics tonight, y'all. The dinner special we want isn't served til 5pm, but the fam is wanting to eat outside, meaning they're shooting for 6pm+ (to let things cool off a bit more, and let the sun get behind the building next to the restaurant).

Our city appears to be getting an arcade (sort of) again. Cyberpunx (the LAN cafe a few doors down from Gameland's old location -- yeah, the guys that were the reason Gameland went out of business) has started putting in arcade cabs -- they're still a LAN cafe, tho. The website is lvcyberpunx.com and, as of 5/18, they have:

Yeah, that's what I was reading in the "Vegas Scrubs Thread" at SRK.com (which is where I got this news) -- as I posted in that thread, I've had a hate-on for cyberpunx and the property landlord ever since they created the situation that led to Gameland's closure. That being the case, I was conflicted about supporting cyberpunx move to include arcade cabs when I read about it earlier today. Supposedly, they'll be adding more cabs in the coming weeks if response to these first several cabs is good. If Mickey's going to continue selling cabs to them, that might convince me to support cyberpunx if it translates into someone from Gameland making some money.

From my understanding, Mickey is lending the cabs to Cyberpunx. Mickey is keeping most of the $$$$.

Would be nice to have some good machines close to the apartment again. I share your sentiment, though. And hopefully I don't run into my old roomie down there. If it smells like B.O., it would be his fault. His stench is legendary.
