..is scarey, weird, and the death of true video games in my opinion.
Not that I care so much for games anymore as it is, but it just makes me realize why I enjoyed 2D as much as I did. My pre-order for a 360 came in today so I thought fuck it might as well try it out although I planned on ditching it. Hooked it up to my friend's 42in HD, played DOA4, Condemned, COD2, PGR3.
In regards to what im going to say DOA4 is truly "pretty" and was worth messing with for a bit. However, in the end I personally can't handle this crap, the HD with these 3D games is too much for me. I literally felt like I was in the 3D world at some points, I got crazy dizzy and lost within the game. I was so distracted with detailed backgrounds and highlighted crap everywhere I couldn't even enjoy myself. Similar to being at a rave on a few pills with annoying lights and crap everywhere.
This just isn't video games to me, its a whole new level of weirdness that I can't even put into words, hence, weirdness. The only time I felt normal for a minute was a very barren building in COD2 that was quite plain and reminded of games from "last gen", further making me realize I can't go any further with games. Yea not much has been released but what do I need to see? my point is simply that games are going to get more and more out of hand. Nintendo's outlook truly is correct, for me anyway, with all their comments regarding power and realism (not a fanboy, just agree).
I hope Revolution doesn't stray too far from cube graphics, and thank god for DS in case I do feel like playing something.
