I think he made out pretty good, considering Star Wars fans are fucking insufferable. Not the WORST fan group out there (shippers are the worst, followed by furries and then Nintendo stans) but very high on the gay-o-tron.

EDIT: My position on Rogue One has never been that it was bad. Only that it was boring and unnecessary and added nothing to the franchise. I would have removed Saw Guerrera from it completely, as his scenes are incomprehensibly bad, and maybe just made it about Darth Vader killing all of those lame characters. The droid was all right, though.

I saw 'episode IV' in 1977, like almost every fan that established Star Wars as a cinematic juggernaut for later generations to enjoy.

How the rebels ended up with 'the Death Star' tapes is, literally, the least important aspect of the entire saga.

I know this because for 40 years, nobody cared. It didn't matter and learning how it happened, whether through Dark Forces or through the Disney chronology, is simply unimportant to the overall story. It is a meaningless series of events.

Rogue One is not needed for people to watch and enjoy Star Wars, which in its soul is a childrens' fantasy story with space ships instead of horses. My mind is blown that anyone would watch the very first film only AFTER watching Rogue One to 'see what happens next.'
