As an aside Disney+ has the absolutely worst commercials. Straight up advertisements targeted at fucking retard degenerates. Fast food, scam apps, prescriptions drugs.

If he were to buy it back, most Star Wars fans would be as happy he's in control again as they were when he sold it.

Maybe not Dave Filoni.

I mean, at this point, I feel like the damage is already done and no one really cares what happens with Star Wars any more.

Kind of like Star Trek. It's gotten run into the ground so hard, there's just no saving it.

They haven’t done to Star Trek what they did to Star Wars (yet.)

Discovery mostly sucks and Picard is two seasons of failed attempts to resolve Jean Luc’s character arc (with a few interesting moments) before they went all in with nostalgia bait on season 3 and made something half decent.

But Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds are the best Trek since TNG, period.

I haven’t watched Prodigy yet.

I guarantee you if Lucas were to somehow come back, that shit would get marketed like the return of a jedi.

There would be excitement.

People want Star Wars to be good again. They're waiting for it to happen.

Three simple words:

Disney stuff decanonized.

Then they could cherry pick the good stuff and reintroduce it again.

I don't really care anymore but I'd be willing to give it a chance if they did that.

Just make Cal Kestis the center of it all.

I dunno, I feel like it would just end up like Sony's Spiderman and Spiderman-related stuff, where they just keep getting rebooted every few years and somehow always get worse.

Although I'm sure you're right. I mean, people keep going to that stuff too, even when it results in Morbius.

hundo percent agree on LD and SNW.

Ive watched 3 or 4 eps of Prodigy and it just didn't interest me. The main character is supremely unlikable. Plus being the Trek semi-nerd I am it bugs me that one of the characters (the guy voiced by Jason Mantzoukas) is fucking clearly a Talaxian but he says hes a Tellarite. Someone apparently didn't catch that before the show went into production and if they did they just said "KEEP ROLLING!!!" and went with it. Whatever.

Also - I completely agree with Fami's assessment on Clone Wars.

Watch it in chronological order otherwise you'll just hate it. Ahsoka DOES start as an annoying little shit but she gets way better pretty quick. Like, 4 episodes in quick.

The last season of Clone Wars is 12 episodes, 8 of which are fantastic, and 4 of which are complete bantha pudu and you can skip them. Just watch the Bad Batch episodes of the season (1-4) and the last 4 of the show. As Ive mentioned before, those last 4 run concurrently with Revenge of the Sith and are quite possibly the best Star Wars stuff released since Empire.

Bad Batch the show is phenomenal. Ends a little too quick but better that it ends on a good note and doesn't turn to shit.

Rebels is *chefs kiss* fantastic Star Wars and sets up Ahsoka, which was... eh. I love the character but the show could have been so much better. But it definitely wasn't Boba Fett or Acolyte bad.

Just decanonize the sequels.

I mean, even if they do that, it's too late at this point any way. Carrie Fisher is dead and Harrison Ford wont do any more. So we can't really get any more stories with those characters people cared for.

You can't really recast them (at least that's what that Han Solo movie seemed to indicate)

So even if they decide 'those don't count' and just go with some other direction, I feel like it would just cause too much confusion or a splintering amoung the general audience over what is or isn't Star Wars.

At least, that's my own anecdotal experience from talking to people about how the JJ Star Trek movies were a seperate canon/timeline from the old stuff. It didn't matter how much I tried to explain it. It was always just "but, it's Kirk and Spock!"

Hopefully I'm just overly cynical though.

I haven't seen too much of Clone Wars myself, just random episodes here and there when the room mate had it on at the time. Some of it seemed ok, although man did he hate that chunk of episodes from the last season you mentioned.

I saw a little more of Rebels, again, cause the room mate had it on, and it seemed pretty good. I need to get around to actually watching that stuff.

For real. The first 4 eps set up the Bad Batch and was great, then the next 4 eps were Ahsoka centric but she hung out with two Space Puerto Ricans and did fuck all except piss off the Pykes. Those two chicks come in again somewhere... in the Bad Batch show, I think? I honestly cant remember but they still serve no purpose.

Waste of time and animation.

They can recast Leia, Luke, Han, etc,

They just need a story that isn’t dogshit.

I don't ever wnt to see remakes of the original trilogy.

We don't need them.

I'd rather they do another super gay special edition updating them to look up to modern tech snuff before they remake them.

No thanks.

I’m not calling for a remake and the films don’t need to be remade. But if they want to tell some stories from the old extended universe that aren’t dog shit and feature Luke, Han, etc then go for it.

Rosario Dawson looks the part, but she seems so lifeless compared to Clone Wars/Rebels Ahsoka.
Sadly, this is a very accurate statement.

It would have been great if they had gotten Ashley Eckstein to play her even though she doesnt completely resemble her, but she IS her. She would have been awesome.

Rosario Dawson was never as good as she was shakin' her titties in Clerks III.

Dude, Sebastian Stan should just play the role if it's offered to him.

That dude is a chameleon. Saw him in Pam and Tommy and even though it wasn't 1:1, he channeled the spirit of Tommy Lee flawlessly.

Lily James BECAME Pamela for that series. Good show.

Funny. Sebastian Stan has a better career than Chris Evans now.

Did some more bullshit get announced, or am I remembering a nightmare? I recall a continuation of Episode IX and Ryan Gosling, so it could easily be the latter.
