I finally read about his thing today. I think it's good someone is innovating or doing something different than putting the music on streaming services. That goes for the wu tang album too. I think all music artists across the spectrum get screwed by record companies, management, or service providers.

I wouldn't buy it, but more power to him.

I'd pay $200 for the right album in the right format.
I feel like if people pay 10-15 bucks for a digital download and 25-40 bucks for vinyl, and 100+ for special edition stuff; 200 isn't that much of a monetary leap if it's novel or is specialized for a specific audiophile demographic.

Have to be at least 7.5 ips 1/4" tape properly mastered and transferred.

Of course, Kanye isn't selling a $200 album. He is pitching a $200 player (which isn't something I'd buy).

Sad part is that I'm sure there will be a bunch of doofusus that are gonna give this dude 200.00 USD for that garbage. Same people that buy SUPREME clothing. At one point Kanye sold plain white T-Shirts from Walmart with his tag on it for 100.00$ a pop and he sold out. I just don't get it. People will by anything.

Someone I work with almost all he wears is Supreme clothing, he’s a good guy so I can’t judge. He also gets in on sneaker raffles, don’t understand that either but I think he’s sold some sneakers and made $$$.

I think this stunt has accomplished exactly what he probably wanted, people talking about him, good or bad. He would be completely irrelevant otherwise. Sure it feeds his ego.

The concept is pretty dumb, imagine thinking your music album is worth $200

It's marketed to the same people who buy multiple pairs of $400 sneakers to wear one time each, if at all. The album will sell just fine.

I thought people buy those limited edition sneakers just for flipping? That said I would have liked a pair of those Aime Leon Dore New Balance 550s but missed out and the resellers ask exorbitant prices.
