IGN 8.5 for the UK version.

Damn this looks good to me but I have always liked track and field type games. Looks like the UK gets it now and the USA will have it in a month. Online sounds great as well as the cool Konami characters.

You all also got Scrabble and Stratego for the DS and those never came to the USA. I imported both games and really like them. I think you also got Soul Bubbles DS a while back (which got some great reviews) and we are still waiting for that game.

I will probably import New International Track & Field if I see it on Ebay.

So no one in the UK picked this up? I was going to buy it off Ebay but it was never listed, so I guess I will just wait a month.

Apparently the online (up to four players) is really good as is all of the stats ect. it keeps track of for you and your friends.

So no one else picked this up?

IGN just gave the USA version an 8.7/10

This is a really good game with a good amount of rewards/unlockables. I haven't messed with the online but the single card multi-player is a nice feature as well.

It's pretty decent in small doses.

Great way to mash your screen up.

Most games involves rubbing a meter as fast as you can than mashing a button.

Simple actions like that make up pretty much any Track and Field game though. I have not tried the button (non touch screen) option but have read that it works perfectly. The button option probably makes it feel more like the older Track and Field games.

I also own Sonic and Mario at the Olympics and New International Track and Field is much better. We may not see another track game for a while since they tend to come out in the Olympic years.

I see this is developed by the excellent Sumo Digital, who did the ports of Outrun 2002.

I can't be the only one who thinks it's awesome that the character model they chose for Simon Belmont is his arrange mode version from the PS1 CV Chronicles.

I will probably buy this just because it's a bizarre novelty item...looks pretty fun, though.

are you talking about the outrun for ps2? because that was a super shitty port.
and that's just comparing it to the xbox port.

No, the Xbox one. It got great reviews and I really enjoyed it. Never played the ps2 one.

Anyways, I finally found Track&Field today after searching 5 or 6 game stores. Ironically, it was a music store that had it.

Anyone else having trouble finding it? I wonder if it had a low print run like some other Konami Ds titles.

I've only seen it at a Target. So how is it?

The PSP port of Outrun was awesome, too. It was locked in my system for like a month straight.
It was a perfect example of portable gaming (pick it up, play for 10 minutes, be done with a run, put it down)

Well, I've only had time to play it a little bit, but from what I've seen, it's great.

Simple as hell to pick up, the touch controls work really well and it's just very slick overall.

Where this game will really shine is multiplayer...looks like it'll be a blast as a "party" type game/mini game collection.

The ONLY negative thing I can think to say about this as of right now is that it will defintely chew your touch screen up, so use protection!(screen protection, that is).

And I got it for under $30...it's very reasobly priced for something that will almost surely have indefinite replay value.

I agree, this is a great game. I still haven't switched over to button controls (IGN stated that it works great) but that would give it more of a feel like the older Track and Field Games. It would also save on the touch screen.

This game also has single card down load play for up to four players. It takes you through four events and you score points based on your performance (like a decathalon) with the rankings being shown after each event. This is a nice way to score because you don't have to win every event to win, if you are way better at one event, you can still win the game. The only down side of single card seems to be limited events and the other three non card users don't get all of the cut scenes which are very cool.

Well worth $30 IMO. I still haven't messed with the online yet, or unlocked the cool Konami characters.

So how's the wi-fi?

Nice...I've been so busy with FF IV DS that I haven't had time to even look at the options on Track and Field...I didn't even realize you could switch from touch screen.

That's great news, though. Touch screen works very nicely, but this will be easier for me...I lost all my DS styluses and was using an inadequate GP2X stylus.

I will have to check it out. All I have done so far is single player and local single card four player play and they are both great.

So far I have just been messing around but I am going to start trying to unlock the Konami characters now.

Messed around with this a bit last night. I have to get used to the timing, since I'm more used to the older T&F games. Javelin and Discus are going to take some getting used to.
