I was thinking how amazing that the AES console is STILL going and all these handhelds out right now such as the GP32 and Wonderswan Colour and the NEW Nokia handheld and I thought well hang on, if Playmore/SNK are still making games for the AES system then by any chance does anyone have any idea if they might make some new games for the NGPC?

Thanks :D

No doubt Playmore is worried (righfully so) that no one will buy new games, but if they did I bet all the folks here could keep them profitable :p

Even if twice the number that signed the petition bought a new release, it still wouldn't make much profit. Publishing games on a limited release that were close to completion is one thing, but developing new games is another matter alltogether. Unless a crazy millionare buys the rights to the NGPC and starts his own publishing house, don't expect it to happen anytime soon...

There was i think an english company that sold arcade boards etc a couple of years back got everyones hopes up saying they had the rights to make new games for the NGP, its a distant memory in my head, anyone know more if this story (if u can work it out!) but anyway obviously nothing happened.

It would be great if it happened, but unfortunately it's a pipe dream. I think of all the systems out there, the NGPC is the one I'd love to see new releases most, but it's just not gonna happen. :(

I dunno exactly, although I'm pretty sure it's a hell of a lot easier than the N64 to work with.

Where's Nesagwa when you need him? ;)

Buy a flash linker and write your own games...

There's a small, but fairly active, homebrew scene and, now that you can use C to write games, it's very easy to roll your own ;) Yeah, most homebrew games are amateur efforts, but there are a few really decent ones.

Some links:
