Read through it a couple of days ago and it's fairly standard Bitmap Book fare, which is a good thing.
It sort of doubles as a Fatal Fury/Art of Fighting compendium with a lot of discussion about both in the section covering FF's history prior to all the art and screenshots. Lots of great info there.
Some things that stuck out for me:
We get final clarification on the Shinkirou art image with young Geese, young Takuma, rando characters, and the big nun above them. It's from a manga that was cancelled. No info aside from that.
MOTW2 was about 50-60% complete before Azure cancelled development prior to SNK going totally belly up. The most completed portion was the animations.
While SNK was aware that SF2 was being developed, they had no idea that it was going to be as good as it was and didn't expect it to steal too much of FF's thunder. Obviously that's not what happened.
FF1 was going to have a sumo character very similar to E. Honda until SF2 was released, and they scrapped it. Some other changes to characters were made to better differentiate them from SF2. Initial similarities weren't intentional.
The blond guy in the Street Fighter 1 intro IS Terry Bogard per Nishiyama, and was originally intended to be the game's main protagonist before they ended up with Ryu and Ken instead.
They loved the line system until they didn't, which is why after RBFF1 it become more simplified in RBFFS, even moreso in RBFF2, and then just killed off in MOTW.
Some of the initial concept art for characters were very different from their final versions, notably Franco Bash who looked much closer to Kenshiro in biker leather before they went full Freddie Mercury with overalls. Duck King looked like AOF1 Mickey Rogers and Pigpen from Peanuts merged into one, and had a different name. Mai was a male at first with a design that looks almost identical to Saizo in Breakers.
The writing is a little weird and subpar. The author absolutely loves to use "Indeed, " to start sentences, and there's a lot of redundant filler text that resembles "my report is due but I don't have enough pages" type verbiage. Bolded emphasis text quotes is placed oddly at times, with a couple very close to where they are in the article, basically having you read the same thing twice in a row. There's also a few typos here and there.
