So it's a Vortex cart of the V2 161-in-1 home cart. Uses the same ass ugly menu and everything.

I will say, one nice detail they got right that other cart makers on the MVS vortex did not is the ordering of certain titles. Because of a default to alphabetical order Metal Slug X follows 1-5. Fatal Fury Special follows 1-3. And RBS follows 1-2. A minor thing but an attention to detail thing in my opinion.

No Slug 2 Turbo and only one version of Mag Lord and Shock Troopers but has SamSho 5 Perfect, Treasure of the Caribbean (lol), Shinobi, Golden Axe, Digger Man (double lol), and Last Hope. No Xeno Crisis or Eye of Typhoon which usually makes it onto these carts.

Also has Ghostlop, Bang Bang Busters, Zintrick, Crossed Swords 2, Final Romance 2, and Ironclad.

I didn't go through every title to make sure but seems to have all of the cart releases including the mahjong and quiz titles.

I'd be interested at least to know if they got around the issues with Garou and KOF2000.

The way I see it is if you have an AES - you’ve either been spending $$$$ or you haven’t been able to. Skip a switch 2 and get something like this to play all the games on the real hardware.

I’ve never seen anyone produce anything for the NEOGEO that has been a great deal.

Then everyone seems to think once they’ve graced something with their grubby hands, they can resell it for more. So such is life in this space.

rewrite seems to have disappeared on AP (possibly with some money for deals). leonk is still making the carts and has posts up at AP and KLOV. I'm biased since I got one of Leon's carts but I much prefer the clean menu he uses without the silly Athena. He does some additional work on the boards (e.g. custom power rail, higher quality caps) that I don't believe rewrite does/did. And his price as of mid August was $300+shipping (no need to provide your own cart), he is in Canada.

Just wanted to post that in case anyone sees and goes looking for rewrite.

Yeah, well, no prob with that stuff per se, just don't need one anymore, my master plan to get all the Neo games I want has worked out so I'm good.

Still, I've seen lots of those things come and go, most of them have issues in one way or another, wouldn't pay 400 for one, no way.

I had both, and while Rewrites was entirely functional, I have to agree on the menu. Leon's is just - there. All it needs to do is let you select the game and thats what it does.

Did rewrite actually leave some people hanging? I know he did before he started shipping but then came through. I know he is on a hiatus type thing I guess, but I wasn't aware of him bouncing with funds. That's disappointing.
