I picked up a NNC cab last year and finally got around to fixing it up last month. I know, I know, I turned it into a Net City and the purists will hate that I'm sure...I do however have a complete NNC art kit should it ever need to be converted back. I just prefer the more colorful Net City theme myself:D

I did a 100% tear down to every last nut and bolt and cleaned up everything to look brand new. Auto body shop respray on the body and powder coated the interior cabinet parts. Pretty much everything else that could be replaced with NOS parts was replaced along with a BIGTIME printed marquee and a FrancoB JVS/Jamma loom.

Anywhos, I figured some of you may want to check it out, here's a link to my Flickr page...

That looks absoultely beautiful. I can only hope to give my net cities that kind of teardown and rebuild in the future. The JAMMA / JVS loom is a really nice addition too.

Edit: how do the side rail covers come off? I haven't figured that out.

There is like 6 security torx on the back. Once you remove that and the top security torx, then you can slide the whole thing upwards.

Good job on the rebuild.

That is some clean work there and a great result. Reminds me of the shows where they do full tear down restoration of old muscle cars. The before and after is always so surprising.

I've got a 71' El Camino I'm working on in my garage right now haha! Thanks guys, I was pretty happy with the results too. I'm sure everybody is familiar with how bad most of these cabs look when we get them so it's nice to see them looking like new again sometimes!

Haha yep. Mine were absolutely filthy. I have them acceptably clean, but they still need a good full teardown in the future.

How many hours did you invest in this? I can't imagine it was very quick :lolz:

I'd say about 40-50hrs probably...most of that was hand sanding all the various parts of the cab before getting it resprayed...that part was awful, probably 10-12hrs just doing that. Then about another 10hrs in cleaning it with various solvents to get all the adhesive and dried soda residue off of stuff...then cleaning the electronics and wiring...sanding/polishing up the marquee ect...yikes. Taking it apart took about 6-7hrs and about the same for putting it back together and making sure everything matched back up and worked. I'd kinda like to do a NAC next if one ever shows up in my area I think...
