I bought NTM a few weeks ago and now I can't put it down - it's awesome! However I searched the forums for faqs and can't find anything on it so thought I'd start a new thread. Does anyone know of a good faq for NTM on any other websites?

Also, just wondered what other people's scores are. What's the best score you've got? I know I'm not that good yet but my best is -7 on the USA course. Has anyone got a hole in one? I've had some close ones but haven't managed it yet.

well ...I must admit...I ve played with BTG/NTM a lot lately and all I can say.. practice and the experience hole by hole, will make you a true golf master ...

also if I can suggest you, try the eagle in every hole ..and use the obstacles like the little inslands or the shortcuts, expecially when they are in O.B.

sorry any true faqs ..:( but an extra secret course would be defenately a good thing ... :loco:

there isn't really any point in an FAQ, as every game is different. One play you could have no wind, the next it could be gale force.

The best way is to keep playing.

Also, I once got a -19 on the Australia course.

yeah its a great game. i ussually get anything between the -10 and -20, depends on how good i play and how much like ive got :p. ive had a higher score than -20 something but dont know how high, been a long time ago. marocan friend of mine who never plays neo got hoooked on this game (borowed my cdz). even he made -18 or -19. hole in one happened maybe 2 or 3 times ever only. as good as impossible, but it is. also albatros is also very rare, maybe only got that 5 or 6 so times in all the years ive been playing.

most frustrating thing about NTM, getting a birdie on an an eagle course, now thats fucked up.

Ok I think I still have a lot of practising to do! -20?! That's like a birdie on every hole and a couple of eagles! I've only got an eagle twice so far! I always seem to do really well on most holes then totally fluff it up on one hole and undo all the good scores I got. How the hell do you get an albatross?! You'd have do a par 5 hole in 2 hits!

As for a faq I was thinking more along the lines of what is in the AES manual. I mean I'm no golfer so I didn't really know what the clubs were for when I started playing NTM. I still don't know which club you're meant to use in a particular situation, just use which one I think is best from past experience and I still don't know what the PW club is! It also took me a while to figure out the grain on the greens, but I think I've got it sorted now. I wasn't sure if the little arrows related to the map of the green or from the point of view of the putter.

Best hole to get an eagle on is Australia 2nd hole. Done it more there than on any other hole.

Big drive up the fairway then straight into the hole next shot!

This game is classic! Easy to pick up and play but doesn't lose its playablity factor.

Neo Geo Turf Masters is simply awesome. I am not a golf fan but I like playing the game. I am just wondering which version are you guys playing? AES? MVS? or CD?

I usually play the CD version and play "Another game- Grand Slam mode". I think I got "hole in one" once and my highest score is -10.

After beating all 4 courses (in Grand Slam mode), a hidden course named "Scotland" appears. That course is super hard as there are many obstacles such as sandtraps and trees. I have not finished 1st place in the Scotland course. Anyone here beat that course?

Wow that's cool! I bet the course is at St Andrews. That's just up the road from me. Better get practising!

The hidden course in Scotland is located at Edinburgh, and the tournament name is Scotland Open Traditional

Aw that sucks. The programmers obviously didn't do their research very well. St Andrews is the golf capital of Scotland.

That sucks even more! :crying: It's almost worth getting the neo geo CD to play the scotland course though!

Yes, Neo Geo Turfmasters on Neo Geo CD is better than AES or MVS version in our opinion - just because of the extra game mode. But it's quite hard to locate the English version of NTM nowadays.
