Neo Geo Pocketstation Prototype

APPARENTLY, NOW MY GOOGLE WORKS AND THE SAME PICTURES SHOW UP ON ASSEMBLER AS WELL, SORRY to bring it up, but still interesteing. I guess the pictures just weren't displaying before.

So,

Apparently I've been buying recently NGPC games from Dion himself on ebay.

He has some flash carts on his page as well, but I already own two, however he told me he had a prototype neo geo pocketstation as well. I looked over the forum a few times, and I saw some topics discussing it, but no real pictures.

Below are the pictures he sent me. Looks interesting, the board houses a 15pin game port, as well as an actual LCD screen inside the enclosure and numerous video out ports on the side.

Thoughts?

This is beyond my skills. I have one of these and posted high res pictures several years ago. My site has changed since, but I can post better pics later this week. And for the record, Pocketstation is a term coined by NGF. Nowhere on the board does it say Pocketstation. It is K2_Video. YouTube Videos of it in action.

IIRC someone did make a neo geo pocket to tv mod. The problem was that the output cable came out of the screen on the neo geo pocket, so you couldn't use it as a handheld anymore.

I have a semi-working device with an encoder attached to a neo geo pocket and a controller port attached to it. I just need to find a box, that's why I was originally interested in the piece, but for that price, I can make like 1,000 of these lol

Did you make this encoder? I have seen a few on yahoo.jp just not sure how they work.

Your post seemed to say you have a semi working one. Do you have pics of the semi working one?

The amount of work to make one of those is the same as making a consolized system out of a Game Gear.

Not sure what are the R G B and Sync leves on the NeoGeo Poket but all you have to do is find them, tune them up using an oscilloscope, wire them up.
Get a neo controller and wire it up to the controller points.

If you considere doing a consolized from an MVS level 4 out of 10 this would be 5 out of 10.
