Here's my Japanese Neo Geo AES system white box, green stripes version.
It's a very low serial number: 17698.
I suppose this was a rental version of the Neo Geo, as it comes with catalog and goodies like i've never seen in any other system case before.

There is a "color ntsc" mention on the box.
on the rear of the box, it's written "tony 91' "

Here are pics from it, if you want hi-res ones, just PM me.

System is working flawlessly and is in incredible condition for its age. only the first controller shows some wear on the neo geo logo, but works perfectly too.

Second controller is brand new, never used.
Comes with a white box with green stripes.

Asking 1500 € + shipping for everything you see on the pictures. shipping worldwide or local pick-up.

Hi Blondin, would you consider selling the flyers separately?

I had a green stripe neo, it had a neo-aec inside which never made sense to me. I did see someone else on here who had a green stripe neo that had a neo-aec inside too, but I think we might both have been victims of a switch at some time in the past. Reality is the box is worth many times the console on this particular item, it's a bit of a sad world we live in isn't it :)

Interesting, did the serial match the box though Steven? Mine does, but it's a definite Neo-0.

The white/green NEO-0 box is the very first console box, produced from April 1990 to July 1991 (when the black box has been introduced)

In Japan, that was the box for both rental units and for sale units (58.000yen) along with NGL-0 option controller.

in 1990, the same package was initially used for western market (which this seems the case) SNK modded to PAL the boards, actually still running at 60hz/color full screen in composite, as they had no real PAL hardware (MKL documented all this)...RGB of course wasn't modded.

This is where the confusion is often made, as a full JPN 1990 system is consistent, while an early export package has mixed console/package naming like mentioned by Stevenk.

In the US (but probably in UK too) the white/orange package was introduced.

edit:

Given the flyers and the "NTSC" annotation, sounds likely that this package was destined to the US though.

No sorry, i want to keep the package as it was meant to be. If i was the collector who would buy it, i would appreciate the integrity of the set to be 100%.

I don't recall there being serials on the box on this one actually.

Really interesting stuff, thanks for this. Looks like mine quite possibly was as it was intended then, just an early export model. It's consistent with the serials on the console, it was very low, in the early thousands if not hundreds I seem to remember, so I did think it was odd for it to have been doctored.

Blondin, sorry to derail your thread, GLWTS, free bump :)

Sure no problem at all, I understand. The black and white flyer looks great, any chance of some more pics of that?

Thanks,
Frazer
