Nice cab!

I can't fit a moves sticker on the top of mine. How is that attatched exactly?

Also, I need to resize my monitor a bit. I can change the Vert position and size, but I can only change the horizontal position, and not size. Does that make sense?

The screens a little too wide and cuts off a bit of player 2's side. How can I fix this? My little adjustment card thingy is missing the horizontal size wheel.. :(

Ew...If your missing that POT/adjustment knob then your going to have to either replace that POT/adjustment knob,or the whole plate-monitor adjustment board.

I don't think there is no other way..

I'm not sure if this is a sold item..Someone just asked me in a PM too..

I'd say send Bob Roberts(in the link) an email to see if he can get you the part.
http://www.hardmvs.com/html/links.htm

Or,maybe an arcade vendor or someone who sells Arcade parts on Ebay might have on lying around.

Crap :(

Well, thanks, Chris. I'll ask the arcades around here, if they don't have it I'll ask good ol' Bob. It's strange cuz it looks like it was never there. It doesn't look broken or removed... I don't understand that. Everythings all neatly screwed on the side wall, but..it's just not there! Oh well...It's not that bad, but it could be better, ya know?

How's the overlay/drilling coming along?

Oh, BTW, Chris. I modded my Universal Real Arcade stick a bit too! I put a REAL super and REAL buttons in it. Just put in a little TLC and it turned out a great stick for consoles. Saved me a ton compared to the Mas sticks too. I really like how it has the xbox headset port for playing CvS and stuff on Xbox Live. Very cool.

Hmm..Well.I'd say if it was never there then it's not missing then..With it missing(an empty space for it) your monitor probably wouldn't work right..or at all.

There might be another way on the back of the monitor then(that I wouldn't know)but someone else may know if you can provide a pic of the back of the monitor or the model/Make of it..

There also may be another way of adjusting it by messing around with the other pots(?)

I'll look around on the monitor board for some other pots.

I've worked it out the best I can with the pots I have, but its still a weee bit too wide. I finally got my damn sig working  I hate this VB code mumbo jumbo. I wish this forum used HTML.

That's Awesome..I'd love to see how it came out./looks like.. :buttrock:

I forgot all about the Memory Card port for the Headset..It's still hooked up..

Yea..
When I finally start using it for AES/XBOX only..I'll take out the Sanwa and put in a Super..
The real buttons I've already put in..

I had an Ultimate in it before I put in a Sanwa..I keep 1 Sanwa 1 Ultimate and one Super around incase I want to switch the stick quick.
It's a great controller for modifying..very easy to work with etc.

Cool, duder. I wish I had a digicam to show ya, but it's just a black super and 2 red 2 yellow 2 green and 2 blue right on top of each other (Neo Pride!) It turned out pretty cool. It's a well designed stick and the layout is nice, I just wish the stock parts were REAL and not "REAL"...oh well. :)

I've never played with a Sanwa. What are they like?

Yeah, since I got it from Kiselgof, I've cleaned it up, changed all the buttons
and joysticks, now to the point where it looks really pretty.

Now I just need an overlay. I e-mailed that guy earlier today letting him know
that I want to buy the gold cab stuff he's got. Is he fast with e-mail?

Hey,..Move sticker on top huh..
It sort of breaks up the plainness I see when I look at the top of the Neo Geo..\
Not bad..

Hmmm,
I think I could get a move sticker to stay up there without sticking it on by putting it under the metal bracket that holds the glass in..or behind it..

I just want to break up the plainness ....it looks more Arcade like with the sticker there.

Nice machine Jorge.....Thanks for showing it to me..

He was fast with the Emails/replies..At least by the same night,or by the next morning..
I was very surprised when he said he could get it after I just took a chance by asking him..
I was Shocked..and he replied quick..

Though I have bought things from the company in the past..(One being the Spare Control panel for my Candy Cab)
They sometimes did take a few days to respond...

I may have caught him/them at a good-free time.

I haven't seen them listing anything in the past week or so..So they might be stocking up on stuff.

Awesome sticks..They are what come in the Candy cabs most of the time...
A lot of people prefer these over anything else.
Removable ball and 4 -8 way switchable plates underneath.

Candy cab ..Like in my Sig...One ball I have on is Red and the other I put a Yellow ball on it.

That cab is freakin beautiful. I'm instantly jealous of anyone who has one. So let me get this straight: Sanwa's are different from Neo 29's? Or are they just the cabinet best suited for a Neo 29 setup?

Thanks man...

To be honest I don't know the answer to that question about the Sanwa's/ best suited for a Neo 29 setup.

I do know that they have a few small bottom part that makes it easy to fit in small control panels with not a lot of clearance inside...

(Oh..NOTE:..They don't come with the SNK on the side..I made that..
I scanned my Irritating Maze Side art stickers and printed it out..Using Lamination Paper to make it into a removable sticker..

NOTE:Important..

NOTE:Important..

..If you buy the new type horizontal switch buttons to use with the new overlay..They are smaller in width, then the old style vertical buttons.

This type..is what I have now..They are smaller in width.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3285455779
JAMMA MAME ARCADE PUSH BUTTONS BUTTON NEW W SW'S
YOU ARE BUYING BRAND NEW BUTTONS AND SWITCHES FOR ANY STYLE OF JAMMA, NON JAMMA OR MAME SETUP MACHINES. THESE ARE THE LONGER VERSIONS FOR WOOD OR METAL CONTROL PANELS. IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE BECAUSE WHEN YOU HAVE WOOD AND LEXAN ON YOU MACHINE MOST BUTTONS WILL NOT BE LONG ENOUGH TO REACH AND YOU CANT GET THE NUT ON--NOT SO HERE--THEY ARE LONG ENOUGH FOR ANY APPLICATION! THEY COME WITH BRAND NEW ZIPPY SWITCHES. ZIPPY AND CHERRY ARE THE TOP MANUFACTURERS OF MICRO SWITCHES,

So,If you cut the new overlays button holes to the size of the old overlays holes..These buttons may not cover the hole fully..
If your using these new type buttons or are going to be using them then you may want to cut the holes for the buttons a bit smaller.
But,you will not be able to use the old type wider buttons..

I even have older Horizontal type buttons that are wider then the new types I've been getting off Ebay and from Betsons.

Basically what I'm getting at is make sure to have the buttons before you cut the holes and are going to be using them.

I noticed this when I was changing the buttons in the Xbox Joystick..The older type were hard to get in and the new type slipped right in..
Also today..The Mini cab had old type "horizontal" buttons in it..
When I went to put the new type "horizontal" buttons in it..I had to maneuver them around so they would cover the pre cut sized holes in the plexy glass overlay..They wobble when loose whereas the old type fit perfectly.

Wow, Chris, thanks for the info! I've been looking for a Gold Cab CPO for as long as I can remember. This should be really helpful. I hope I can get one :)

In regards to the cutting, they make drill bits for circles, ya know? Would it be possible to get the bits in the right size? I'm not so worried about the button holes since the button will cover that, but I'd like the joystick hole to be precise.

My only concern is the bits may melt the CPO. I've worked with some in the past, and I'm worried the friction may cause it to melt. It's happened before with other materials. What do you think? Does it seem...meltable? :annoyed:

If I don't check back soon, PM me please. I forget to check this forum sometimes. Thanks again.

Dont use drill bits! Im no expert at drilling mind you, but I did ruin an original overlay by slipping with the drill, scratching the overlay all to hell. Just a word of caution.

:p

I haven't messed with it yet....I've been putting all my time in the mini.

I think with patience it's doable and the right tools....It just has to be..

Poke hole..use small drill bit, then door hole drill...something in that realm..

I figure if I take the old overlay put in on top of the new..
Use a marker to draw the outlines of the circles and cut in the inside of that circle..
That may give me the smaller correct size for the buttons...
But I still need to get the tools..

I'm thinking about getting the control panel professionally painted/sandblasted etc..

The site now moves too slow for me..Upgraded to move slow WTF!!

Note:...

This overlay is too thin to use any kind of drill on..It'll rip it apart...(i'd say you really ned some sort of expensive set-up to do it..Just poking a hole in it causes a seperation...The vibration from the drill with lift the whole plastic off.

The plastic that covers the film is no thicker then I'd say..something you would find packaged in clear plastic,a toy for instance.
But,
It's a rubbery based plastic that stretches a bit...sort of like a zip lock bag but a lot stronger.

As soon as you poke a hole in it you get separation..(it bleeds)
Stops bleeding if held and when you stop cutting.

I placed a small door hole drill over the hole to be made for the joysticks since I had to cut a bigger hole and could chance messing up..Nah,not happening..It will destroy this..the separation caused will ruin the overlay.
The cutting has to be done slow and patiently.

If not..,It'll rip up the film underneath and totally remove the above plastic.
It reminds me of something vacuum packed/laminated whereas once you poke a hole you let in air and get separation..
it starts to spread as you cut.
If you can have something heavy to hold down around the edges while you cut the circle/holes it keep the separation to a minimum..if not keep it together.
I put both of them on a very clean shelf board that was the size of the overlays..

I resorted to using a very pointy/sharp surgical tool looking blade/knife for crafts..
It cuts through like butter..but you need to cut fast.
What I did is take the old overlay, lay it on top of this one and draw the outlines of the holes with a fine tipped black marker.
Then I cut in the center of those outlines(taking it off the board).. to keep the holes smaller for the new smaller type buttons..(came out perfect) the metal control panel allows for slack when putting in the buttons..It's the overlay that needs to be matched.

If you are not crafty with your hands then I'd say don't even attempt it yourself.

For the joysticks I cut the holes much smaller so the Joystick covers-cover up the holes and don't get caught up.
(perfect)
The LED lights show through fine..but make sure to line the old LED squares up since this new overlay is a bit smaller.

I have some separation around the buttons..I don't thinks it's possible to not get this separation since the buttons are so close.

What I mean by separation is the top layer of clear plastic is coming up from/off the film whereas the film underneath is dull and the clear plastic being stuck to it gives a shiny effect.
GOLDIE.jpg

''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
I think I may have a cure for the separation...
.... I will test some things out later in time when I paint the Control panel and take this overlay back off.
I'd say something like a clear glue or..and suggestions....

I need to just get the plastic to stick on the film again, understand.

No matter..It looks good compared to banged up old control panel overlay.
I'd only do this if you know what your doing and really need this overlay.

All in all this sucker still is very sturdy, the film is fairly thick, that being the harder part to cut and causes the separation.
I can't scratch the plastic with my nail etc..it'll take a beaten..

I would not buy this in the Red color design since you can get the pre-cut lexan overlays.

I can't seem to get a clear picture of the separation since the plastic is clear and you really have to stare at the control panel to notice...No-one who has seen it so far has noticed...

(((I'd say if you are anal about this you may not want to even take it on if you think it's going to bother you..))
(Or have it cut by someone)

I'm freaken happy with it..Damn that overlay being new really brings new life to that cab...

All I've been thinking about is painting the CP now..

This is some complicated crap! I'm gonna have to call my brother in to help me :eek_2: :help:

Thanks again. chris. Your posts really help. I was planning on paining the front black part too. It has some palm-wear down to the silver. Any tips for that?
