Hi, I have a brief question about Neo Geo controllers. I have the Neo Geo Gold Home Cart system (serial number 020199) which came with two old style joysticks. My problem is, and I may get in trouble for saying this, I can't stand them!! It's IMPOSSIBLE to do even the simplest of moves especially Geese's Raging Storm and the Ryuko Ranbu. I was wondering if there were any alternative to using these bulky, inflexible monstrosities? I heard that the CD controller would be a good idea...but, I'm not sure if it plugs into the controller port on the Home Cart system. Some sort of information would be nice. Thanks.

All Neo Geo controllers are interchangable. You can plug old style stick, new style stick, pad, or 3rd party controller into any system.

True. You can hookup old stick to CD system (I'm using it now) or vise versa.
Actually a lot of Neo games (Fatal Fury III for example) have some ridiculous joystick movements to perform special move. Yeah, those are very "special"......
A lot of time I'm afraid to do those moves coz I might break my neo joystick.

Let me take this moment to claim my love for the CD pads. I don't really like arcade sticks at all (Which is why I think I lost to Chris Ray when I went to his house, and he was showing me some of his stuff), and would take a pad any day of the week. Now, the only problem I have with pads, and the Neo Geo in particular, is some games have you pressing B and C at the same time, and that's just annoying. Oh well, that's the price you pay for being a pad man.

yea the
controller is
great..
it retains the feel of a joystick
while being a handheld controller
it kinda sucks for the games
where you cant config the buttons..
..
i kinda prefer the sticks myself..
...
o well on another note..
does anyone else s kof 96 cart not
button config like mine?
i know you can go into the options
and config the buttons but it wont
actually config it in the game..
..understand?
or am i just talking jiberish?
..
just wondering..

Thanks, all your information was very helpful. Hopefully, I can find a CDZ controller, though...

Jon,
I can sell you a control pad for $45 (unboxed) or a controller pro joystick (new style) for $50 (boxed).

Ok, that actually sounds really fair. Is it the CD or CDZ controller? I will email you with the same question.
