Since it's been discussed and I haven't researched for quite a while, what's the best worry-free MVS to AES adapter?

Personally I don't think I want to use a flash cart or one of those XXX in 1 carts on AES+. I already have a Superstation One (MiSTer device) already to just play the roms near perfectly on CRT etc. The AES+ to me would be a way of having something close to the original experience of the AES, with the individual home carts, cases, etc.

But I do hope it works with anything and everything so everyone can be happy. Options are good.

Don't have any multicarts. Sold them all eons ago. Just want to test my MVS carts which I kept. Had 100+ and sold most of them. Kept 30 that I enjoy playing.

I don't know about best but I have a Furrtek Fusion and it worked well for me.

Furrtek Fusion, but it doesn't work with NeoSD flash carts.

The JapanGameOnline ones are an uncedited knockoff of the Furrtek.

I don't know about best but I have a Furrtek Fusion and it worked well for me.

Interesting if you read the sold out message it said improvements and more to come before November 2026, I can't believe they'd pick November as just an arbitrary date, sounds to me like converters will work, especially if Furrtek was involved with the AES+ project like rumored

My thoughts exactly after checking his website. Probably he is updating the converter because he might know some new features of the AES+ and might want to make the converter more compatible or work with those new features. I am in no rush so I'll wait for his new batcv in November.

Honestly, if Furrtek has indeed been involved in the AES+ project, then fair play to SNK/Plaion for allowing MVS to AES adapter to be built up to spec in time for the release of the console

This AES+ is bringing people out of the woodwork! I hope they can make wireless stick controllers that have the same feel as the originals.

Even if the wireless controllers feel a tad bit different, I'll still be happy for them. Kids and Pets can be annoying around wired equipment.

Felt? More like caressed.

Listen Kern, I've goobed for lots of consoles but never goobed so hard like I did for the Neo. I still own one and take it out of the box from time to time just to feel the power.

I’ve been buying up a mixture of MVS and AES carts recently at reasonable prices but even I have put anymore purchases on hold now to see what develops. So I’m unsure the prices will hold on OG carts. Only the super dedicated would be willing to pay 0000s. But let’s see.

I think what makes the new AES preposition attractive is the price and collectability aspect of it. I can play any Neo Geo game perfectly on MiSTer, I certainly do not need any Neo Geo System or games. On the otherhand this is a chance to own something which I really wished I had back in the day but came at a prohibitive price, and having some disposable income (I am by not any means rich), I can jump in. I see myself buying every game they bring out, but it stops there - I am not going to go on eBay to purchase titles which have not been re-published by Plaion, knowing that eventually that game might after all be released. And anyway its more about collecting "new" AES games for me.

Obviously other people may have other ways on how to do things, but for my part I am not going to be driving prices of cheap carts up

I do wonder though if there will be many people who will buy the new AES carts but would prefer to play them on an original AES? That would push the price of the system upwards for sure.

I think that the value proposition of the AES+ gives to each their own, really.

You can play new-released games on your original home system, you can play your 90s cart on the new home system. You can swap accessories at will…seen under this light, really there is no better or worse way to get into the hobby.

I personally do not think it will drive original home carts particularly up or down in price. The market for AES games (calling as such for simplicity) was always a niche one, dedicated to those with disposable income and a love for the system. This won’t change and I personally will always prefer the originals to the re-releases even if a Metal Slug 3 nowadays sets you back $3k (luckily I still have my first print bought in the mid-2000s).

What AES+ will do is giving the opportunity to those who cannot (or don’t want to) meet the bar in collecting originals but still want to collect something officially released by SNK. For the hardcore collectors, these re-releases are a good way to see never-released games on home consoles with a legitimate SNK release.

Yeah I cannot imagine trying to sell this today without HDMI.

It's pretty incredible they decided to bother with the DIN or equivalent video out. Touching on that I think they'd be best to keep it exactly the same, ie. no stereo out the back. I mean if you're using a CRT you are most likely to already own a SCART cable with the stereo headphone input. Otherwise we're talking new cables and that kind of goes against their whole idea of keeping it a faithful recreation when they seem to have kept to that with everything else.
