I just pre-ordered the anniversary edition on Amazon. Less than $250 after applying points I had sitting around. I'll just cancel my anniversary edition with Plaion, but keep my ultimate edition order.

Okay. lol. I ordered the system. Then I double-goobed when I realized later I'm not getting a memory card, and the memory card is new, so I want to check it out.

At first I was regretting not ordering them together, and then I was like, at least this way one item can't delay the other. I do really want to be one of the people to get their hands on this and put it through it's paces.

This thread is full of serious goobing on white consoles and $1,000 packs with 10 games. Lots of folks are going full goob.

I should probably cancel the memory card order. They have them on Amazon.

I FULL GOOBED yesterday for Ultimate, I mean 10 games alone separately is $900, seems like they are handing us the console, 2 controllers, and CD pad for gratis which is cool. I have a fear they werent expecting so many ultimate orders, and may lose money, or ask for more $$ from pre-orders

OK, I found what I was thinking of. It says the following about the ultimate edition:

exclusive limited print run and numbered edition including all games and accessories available at launch.

They don't clarify what they mean by "exclusive," i.e. is it only sold via the Plaion store then? Not sure. Guess we'll see.

With the Atari+ line of products, there were a ton of people complaining about shipping issues when ordering direct from Atari while Amazon orders were filled without a hitch. I saw a lot of people who pre-ordered stuff that still hadn't arrived way after the release date, they wound up cancelling their Atari order just to order it from Amazon and it would arrive the next day.

Was that stuff shipped by Atari or Plaion?

I don't know if that stuff was shipped by Atari or Plaion, but those sorts of issues are precisely why I waited for Amazon. Now I just need Amazon to launch pre-orders for the extra stick.

To be fair I think all the images so far are renders, so we haven't seen an actual production unit of any of these items.

Personally I like both colors, and have ordered both. But time will tell when we see real units.

I was wondering this also but since im taking managerial finance at the moment, it can be easy to say that their overhead for this is probably cheap since it doesn’t have any fancy electronics like disc reader, ram, or hard drives which requires more outsourcing costs etc

Even if they sell 100k units that’s an easy 25 million for them, my take on it is that since they never set a pre order limit they will manufacture each unit for each order as they go, the only delay i can see is demand killing supply and not being able to fulfill orders fast enough in a good way .
