Yeah I’m thinking my AES+ will live in the living room permanently with Big Tournament Golf in it for socialising.

I’ve yet to find a casual gamer that doesn’t like that game (so long as your playing against other people of a similar skill level).

Yeah, Neo Turfmasters is always a big hit with folks who don't even really do retrogaming.

I didn't take a photo of it, but it was this same group and setup again at my place. We had BTG running on two consoles, both playing stroke play on the same course (we'd just wrapped up another 4-player League Bowling session) and everyone said they had a great time with it.

Yeah I get that but Japanese plastic was all sorts of heavy and could bio degrade in 1000 years, now I’m lucky if I get two years out of anything plus I can argue that living conditions affect it big time, I try to take care of my stuff but like I mentioned plastic just cracks and breaks by just looking at it

its a mix; telling people to stop running out and buying flash carts and MVS converters that haven't been stated to work and wait for testing (because a BUNCH of people will yell when and if day 1 their $600 flash cart doesnt work), talking about sources of the code that CAN be fabricated to the ASIC, discussing RE's, schematics and diagrams of designs, talking about nanometers in foundries, and pinwheeling...lots of pinwheeling

not that anyone believes comparisons because 50% of people think everyone weights them towards what they WANT to "win" but I will run direct hardware comparisons between AES / FPGA / AES+ across a bunch of diff games and genres, do audio comparisons, latency testing, etc etc

and then whatever is the best everyone will say "who paid you"

Most people who choose MVS over AES do so because AES is too expensive for their tastes.

The whole point of AES+ is to make money re-releasing AES games at an affordable price. MVS is now AES+'s main competitor.

That's a good point. They aren't Analogue. They want to sell games.

Most likely, converters are going to work on this thing (if they try to ban converters it will probably compromise compatibility) so have your Furrtek adapter ready, and you'll be fine. Only thing is a NeoSD MVS probably won't work, but that's nothing new.

Review style 1: Glorified unboxing. Power on the console and if it works, say it's the greatest thing evar! Praise whatever deity they believe in. Call it a review for some reason.

Review style 2: "This is not an exact recreation. I seez da SHIMMMMMMMMMM-er-ing on the horizontal axis. Here, let me zoom in 9000% on the picture and slow it down 2000% on this specific pixel in the overscan area so you can see it." Use every tool under the sun to find miniscule differences. Do everything except actually play games on the thing. 6 hour runtime.

Review style 3: "Hi! I'm so and so and I got my unit for free. I played this thing for a whole 20 minutes (and will probably never touch it again until I relist it on ebay later for $$$$!) but definitely pick on up yo! Don't worry that I got mine for free and you're paying a grand! FOMO FOMO FOMO!"

Review style 4: Actual review by someone that bought and paid for it as a fan, with realistic standards and expectations. Will tell you the cool stuff that they've discovered and share any flaws. Yeah but with something like an original controller on your tv plug and go without logging into windows, selecting a rom, realising you need to down a bios file which no one has for download and then realising that the ratio or implementation or filter settings or v sync need configured oh wait actually I have a life so that 20 minute opportunity to play a game is now gone oh well I better go like and subscribe this channel on YouTube instead.

I think you're right. Converter will likely work, but they'll just ignore it and try to not acknowledge it.

As for piracy devices, I don't know anything about piracy and have no idea what would or wouldn't work.

The one accessory they're not selling that I want is a wired stick that matches what comes with the system. The wireless stick is so expensive that I might just buy two systems instead.

Okay. lol. I ordered the system. Then I double-goobed when I realized later I'm not getting a memory card, and the memory card is new, so I want to check it out.

At first I was regretting not ordering them together, and then I was like, at least this way one item can't delay the other. I do really want to be one of the people to get their hands on this and put it through it's paces.

This thread is full of serious goobing on white consoles and $1,000 packs with 10 games. Lots of folks are going full goob.

I should probably cancel the memory card order. They have them on Amazon.
