Shilling hard for games that cost like 10€ on Steam but €500 on NeoGeo “just because”.
It’s their games they have on Steam and other platforms though so it’s not like they’re trying to keep the cheap path a secret. It’s all sales.

Yeah for sure being able to publish on €80 ain’t a thing yet, but the public perception that “Neo Geo Carts must be lotsa money cos they always been like that” has been shattered based on the messages I see (admittedly from cretins) on facebook and reddit. Lots of people saying stuff like “I ain’t paying €500 for “Joe8‘s SkidMarks Rally” or “Kernow’s Revenge” anymore”.

I will go further, I seriously doubt those games selling for €500 cost more than €100 to make and I base that what you can get AES shit on Aliexpress for. Margins must have been good on €500 indie games.
NGDevTeam games cost well over $100 to manufacture (probably closer to $200).

And yeah it still remains to be seen whether these $80 AliExpressSystem+ games aren't vaporware.

Maybe at one point they did, but I’ve seen new AES games with the case for sale as low as €120 on AliGayPress so that tells me if you did a big enough order from one of these Chinese factories you’d get your price well below 100 a unit. Label and Insert print quality from China might be shite though, maybe Tonk could help you out there.

Not to be a debbie downer here but after looking at some videos and seeing the light shine thru the plastic on the cases, the pcbs being super minimal, and the plastic of the games being on par with the NeoSd cartridges. Lets not even talk about how cheap the game system boxes look.
I could see why everything is cheap. Don't expect original collector grade quality. This isn't 1:1 like they say.

This shouldn't be called Neo Aes +. It's more like a Neo Aes Light. The console won't look the same, the stick won't feel the same. It's a watered down version.

This will be cool for newcomers but for the old timers who have played/owned the real thing, keep your expectations low. Just saying

I do get where you coming from - the console will feel and look cheaper up close. But, if it plays games exactly like the original - and perhaps even better than original when the overclock switch is used - its an authentic experience for me, and less hassle over hdmi than using adapters with a more modern tv.

I can see myself having an AES+ in my living room with original AES control pads for an authentic experience.
