It's not bad. I'd buy the SNES version because it's easier to do a "dual stick" type gameplay, but at this point, I'm sure it's on some other platform where you can play it like that anyway (steam? PS1?). Game has been ported to everything.

Yeah XC is one of the better retro indie games.

Xenocrisis is a good game. It was designed for the Genesis/Mega Drive. Making a Neo Geo port is a fun idea, but just a gimmick in the end. I don't know why they've ported the game to everything under the sun since then. They've cheated with the audio, just using a recording of the MD music.

What kills me about Xenoneno is the control scheme. That for me is what makes it a gimmick port, it's better to play it elsewhere...

Like, some people here hate the arcade ports for being redundant but it's nice to be able to run Shinobi on MVS just because you already have it and don't want to buy an actual System 16 board to take care of. It's the same game, same controls, same experience. Xenocrisis is not the same experience, for the worse...

(puzzle gooble 2 is a 4 years late port of a Taito game and I don't see them hatin' keke).

pisses me off that it's slightly inferior in that they could have included the fine-tuning micro adjustment button but just didn't ...

Yeah, dual stick controls are probably the best way to play it. But look at the Samurai Shodown games on MVS -- A six-button controller makes more sense. Sometimes the arcade controls aren't ideal, and that doesn't mean they're completely invalid.

AES+ special move, rising takoo
 The Flying Headbutt is a notoriously tricky but rewarding maneuver. Introduced specifically as a mid-air diving move, you execute it by jumping left or right (pressing A and B simultaneously), followed immediately by pressing the A button to lunge forward with your head.

I am really undecided. I wouldn't mind owning a "brand new" Neo Geo console as well some of my favourite games. But although in Neo Geo terms its cheap, dropping 600 Euro for the system and a few games for something that I can already enjoy perfectly on my MiSTerFPGA makes little sense, especially considering that the code on the console is literally the Neo Geo core form MiSTer.

An easier fit on the fusion would be nice.
Mine is super tight.
Coming with a shell would be great too.
My biggest question is wether the new version would be a worthwhile upgrade for those of us who already have one.
