Unreleased protos from back then are probably in a better playable state than the newly released triple a slop these days that need 15 day 1 patches.

Totally missing the point.

There is a larger market out there than just the hardcore fans that post here. Is some casual that just heard about Neo Geo last year from some fagit Youtube video going to buy a game he saw in a "zomg top 10 neo games evar!!1" vid or some unreleased garbage he hasn't heard of like Eye of the Typhoon or whatever it was called?

I understood your point. Both things can be true at the same time.

Yes and no. How many unreleased protos are fully playable games? Ghostlop is as close to a finished game that I can think of for teh Neo. Appealing to the hardcore niche fans is great but they have to stay afloat as a business too. That means not alienating more casual retrogaming enthusiasts.

I don't think those guys are the small fish you think they are. Plaion was Koch Media before which is a rather big company / publisher in Europe, coming from my Country -> Austria. They have around 2000 employees and are specialized in those "Retro" consoles things but also publish a lot of games for PS5 etc. They make half a billion a year. Very small fry for USA terms but medium sized for Austrian terms. ;)

Haha Respect for owning it.

It's definitely about as impressive an announcement as I can remember seeing, across the board really. The hardware, the game choice, ability to play og homecarts, etc. But that said, I feel like I have to see a teardown/put through its paces before buying. But damned if I'm not tempted as hell right now.

Pre-ordered one of the sticks, wanted to make sure I get one if this sells out quickly.

Not getting a console until trustworthy people get them in hand and can speak to things like video quality and latency.

That Ultimate pack is a good deal but I can't do the white, looks tacky as fuck. The pack that comes with everything isn't a bad deal at 1k either but I'd only be interested in a few of the games

The HDMI out will be laggy or something weird will happen. We'll just have to wait and see. Maybe they'll include a way to update the firmware of the digital part that handles the HDMI out.
