I have controller extension cables for both systems. What do you think, would it be possible to build some kind of generic Neo-to-DC connector (female Neo plug on the one side, male DC plug on the other) to use my Neo controllers for DC? Or are there any commercial products?

There isnt any commercial products, but you could get the vmu board out of a Dc stick and rewire the points to correspond with the neo layout.

The Vmu board would do all the controller circuitry.

Basically you would have a neo stick with an adapter (vmu all soldered)

Hey i like the sound of this and i know where i can get two spare vmu sockets from.

I see what you are trying to do since the Neo stick is so cool compared to other systems lame controllers. Why don't you just get a stick for the dreamcast? After all the Neo stick is two buttons short of being a full dreamcast controller.

So your idea is to wire the Neo controller to an existing DC pad instead of making a genuine interface... Hm, really, that sounds very interesting! The only letdown is that you will have to sacrifice a Neo controller plug and a DC pad.

Problem is that I want to play SNK ports on DC with my old style Neo board, but I have only one and have to find a way to play *both* consoles with the one and only stick...

I have a Sega arcade stick, but it kinda sucks... nah, just kidding, the DC stick (original Sega, not Namco) is good, but my left hand seems to be handicapped in some way if it not rests on a Neo clicky-sticky

well, you can't make a connector without first sacrificing a pad/stick board, unless you know how to recreate a dreamcast controller command encryptor.

you'd need to take the sac board, and then solder all the pins to the buttons you want. i think if you plan to pursue this project, you should use a 15 pin male connector which corresponds with a Neo stick so that you don't need to destroy a neo stick, and so that you can use all kinds of neo controllers on it. (Neo CD, Neo old style stick, Neo "Pro" sticks, HORI sticks, etc.)

Hey, that sounds cool. Think I'm going to transform my shitty Mad Catz DC pad and the Neo extension cable into a Neo stick docking station

You don't need to do all this...

Mas Systems sells custom made dc controller PCBs designed for soldering, you don't gotta hack any real controllers.

I'd like to convert my dads golf to work with the neo.

I'd like the clutch to be 'a', the brake to tbe 'b' and the accel to be 'c'.

Lets be crazy and make the horn 'd'.

Can someone make me an adaptor to use it on my Wonderswan too.

Thanx for the tip, I found one on http://www.massystems.com/Parts.html for $45.

An old DC pad would be cheaper, tho.

LOL. Yep, let's wire two Golfs to a giant neo and play LB in a drive-in cinema! Would be quite some noise with the horn as D button while repelling foes!
