No, you will be able to use the AW cab for Jamma as well. I only meant that normally, the Neo Geo 29 is not wired for Jamma. In this case, Terry has already done this for you so that you will not need to do it yourself so I wanted to make that a selling point for you. Regardless of your choice, you may need to add a CPS2/3 kick harness in order to play the Capcom 6-button fighters. If price is not a concern, then get the AW cab. The Egret 3 style cab is very appealing.

I had my Neo29 hooked up like a MAME setup and totally got rid of the whole jamma hookup, and really got dirty inside the cab when it came to ripping it apart :(. I regret it and want to make it a dedicated Neo-geo like it's suppose to be. I ended up leaving the jamma harness inside, but where the control panel is, I got rid of the male molex connectors with the wiring on them. I need 2 12-position and 1 6-position male molex connectors. Anyone know where I can find them?? Here are a few pics below of what I'm talking about. Thanks in advance!! :D :D

I have not been able to find any place that sells just the connector. You are better off just cutting the wires from that JVS type connector and recrimping to a 12 pin AMP or Molex connector.

any electical shop should have some... there's a place nearby me that has some, or you could get the cheap shit from radioshack, but you'll hate it (like I do).

Wish we had some real local electronic stores here in Kentucky. All we have are Radioshacks.

you could always endure the pain of shipping, and order from online...

marvac / duvac
digi-key
mouser

are a few that come to mind.

In Japan they don't use Molex shit of course. The most largely used brand in the arcade industry is JST. And the connectors in that cab are in fact JST, I think I even spotted the exact model/series and I could get them If I wanted but obviously not just one (or two...).

You can request samples directly to JST:

http://www.jst.com/home10.html

If you intend to assemble the harness yourself you should also request the pins but are you sure you have an appropriate crimping tool? If not, request "terminated" connectors.

Not a bad idea. I'm sure I can find the tool at radioshack. Thanks!! :D

Well, I swapped out my buttons and joystick ball tops again on my Neo29. :loco: This time around, I used pink Sanwa in place of the Taiwan buttons. I liked the button feel of the Taiwan buttons but the click was just too loud. This became especially apparent after playing against a button masher.

The 6th one down or so says it's for a neocandy 29. Is there a difference between the neocandy 29 and the neo29? I'm getting a neo29 and it would be awfully sweet if I could plug that 6 button panel in.

Expect to pay at least $250 and up to get that CP sent from japan, i checked last year...when this topic was relevant ;)
