Nothing fancy but I thought I might snap some pics of my Neo 29 candy cab. I installed new Seimitsu joysticks today and replaced all of the buttons with generic Taiwan push buttons. These buttons have a look similar with the Japan Sanwa only they will click when pressed. In addition, they have slightly more resistance so they are a little bit harder to press down than the Sanwa buttons. Overall, they are good qauality buttons and I am very please with them. Comments and questions are welcomed.

I actually like these Taiwan buttons. They simulate the feel of Happs buttons but have the look of Sanwa. I previously had Happs buttons installed and swapped them out to these. I may grow tired of them in the future and swap them to Sanwa but they will stay for now.

Thanks for the all the feedback.

I also somewhat prefer these buttons for certain types of games like shooters. The sanwa buttons are hair-triggered, which makes them excellent for fighters, but for the button mashing games, I prefer a little more push.

The guy is a great seller, I got this cab from him. I picked it up with my truck, it took me 7 hours drive from Houston to Fortworth on a icy road weather, but its worth it.

Terry is an example of a perfect seller on eBay.

The one the person from Houston has listed has a four button control panel, can you get the 6 button each one online?

That sucks goingmerry. I would save the seller's name in your favorites as he seems to sell those Neo 29 cabs often. This means that it should only be a matter of time before he puts another one up for auction.

Sorry to double post but i have some questions before i call him. And i apologize in advance for the sheer newbness/lameness in these questions but please bear with me. Is the neo 29 dedicated so i will only be able to use a MVS? I want to be ablel to use otehr jamma pcbs and my brother wants to get a cps2. So would i have to do some modifications in order to make it compatible? Cause i don't trust myself with a soldering iron, i was on robotics team at school for a while but only did programming stuff.

Thats great! because i read somewhere that you have to modify it to use other jamma boards. I would like to learn more about the hardwere side of arcade machines but i realy don't know where to find the information.

well i ended up getting in contact with terry, and he still has a neo 29 left! i emailed him about the price just now. idk if i will buy from him or from matsu? basicaly my choices are the neo 29, windy, or atomiswave sd. if i dont' get the AW cab i will have a lot more money for games but idk what i am going to do yet.

The AW Cab will have a multisync monitor (CGA/EGA/VGA) while the others will only be CGA. While I like the style of the Egret 3/AW cab, it is too costly. If it were me, I would go for the Neo Geo 29. It will already be rewired for Jamma so you can use it immediately with your CPS2 games. No matter which one you choose, I know you will enjoy your purchase. Good luck to you.

^^Thanks, yeah you realy cant' go wrong here i mean as far as i am conserned any candy cab is a good cab! So i would not be able to use the AW sw for jamm and cps2 games without modifications? Well yes it is much more costly but i am probably only going to buy one cab for my entire life, or at least the next 8 years so i want something realy nice, not that the neo 29 is not, my point is just price realy is not a huge factor right now.

the aw, sd cab is also jamma, I believe. It has a seperate cable that connects to the vga connector on the aw mobo.
