Need help jailbreaking an iPad 1.

I read that it needs to be tethered to the computer every time you boot it up?

Is it worth it to jail break?

My g/f jailbroke her iPad2 just the other day as she's quite the tech geek.

She's asleep at the moment, but if no one else here can help I'm sure she'd be glad to help once she gets up (works graveyard shift).

Looks like I can't jailbreak anyway.

Need an Intel CPU.

I currently use my iBook for backing up and such. I do have an Intel Mini, dunno if it will work though.

what software are you on 5.0? you can jailbreak an ipad 1 with redsnow on mac it is tethered though so you if you power cycle you need to be hooked up. (its really not that bad ive never power cycled)
I hear there is a untethered jailbreak but do know who supports it. maybe ac1dsn0w not sure check them out.

Its very easy on an Ipad1 its the ipad2 thats more tricky...if you need help let me know I can walk you through it...
