Just recieved this from a friend in Japan, Extremely strange item. It's basicly Kingdom of large fireworks/ Navigator but in a blue box, Which has japanese writing on every single + back and front. I take it that it's a pirate cart, But the cart seems to be offical SNK, It has the reel stickers in there too, The instructions are there but in black and white, In top quailty. Take and look and tell me if you have seen this before.

Okay, now that is wierd. I don't know why it'd be a fake - who would make a fake of that piece of trash game??? I wonder what the box says..

It's not something I have seen before.

It could be someone using up batches of incomplete stock left over from the demise of SNK. i.e. Official cart and stickers, but copied instructions and different box cover.

If it was intended to be pirate, surely they would copy the original box cover given the quality of the other items ?

i think that particular game was also released as a special neo geo pocket color boxset sorta thing, that included the game and a neo geo pocket all in one big nifty box... perhaps that version came out of the boxset, the reason why they didn't focus too much on swanky box art.. since it was hidden away in an even bigger box...

Bri, It wasn't the one released in the NGPC boxset as i also have that one and it's the sa,e as the standard release. This one is weird s**t, Never seen anything like it before. If it wasn't such a crap game i would play it for hours to see if it cut out as a demo or something.<P> Can anyone here translate the box??

I'm actually bidding on one of those right now ;) They come up every so often on Yahoo Japan.

I'm only bidding on it because it comes with a new NGPC and a game I really want. I didn't know that it was Kingdom of large fireworks, I'm a bit disappointed now ;)

I'm surprise that we never heard about this game on the SNK website. All the NGPC releases were discribed.

sorry robert, But the Boxset has the standard game. So it looks like we are stumped with this one at the moment then. I've never seen anything like it before.

Well, the auction says that it's the foreign version, which would probably mean Asia (i.e.Hong Kong/Singapore/etc.) I didn't know SNK distributed anything but the normal English games in Asia. It's possible that this guy's just wrong, but it's probably the best explanation we've got.

Does the box have nothing else on it but the game's title? No catalog number? The Jpanese number should be NEOP01100, if it's an Asian distribution, it should be NEOP0110.

I think what we're looking at here is a pachinko parlor prize edition.

Bare minimum packaging to rid themselves of stock.

Aruze is a giant pachinko conglomerate, after all.

even if they were going to rid themselfs of the stock, Wouldn't they of just printed the same box, It's all been designed ETC same with the instructions. Why make another designed colour box and add black and white instructions. Does anyone here know how we can contact Aruze??? Maybe they could help.

I think they probably had the carts made up, and just printed the cheap B&W manuals, and 2 color boxes in a hurry.

Yeah, the idea that it's a prize given out at an Aruze-owned gambling parlor sounds like a good one to me. Those places always have prizes like this and it would also explain why they used such a big font and primary colors, to make it easier to see from a distance.

Well, the only constructive comment I can add, is that if you want to prove its not a pirate, open it up and check the board/chips.

I've got a GBA KOF that loks really convincing, until you open it, and see the cheapy chips with a battery stuck to the top of one!

Pirate stuff alays has cheap chinese IC's.
The boards are normally very obviously fake as well.

I would imagine its a legit game though.
Why fake it?
More money in those 32 in 1 jobbies!
Or for that matter making fake copies of Faselei or some sought after game.

Either way, its a nice one for the collection!

You know how I love rare variations!

If it helps, i can read part of it.

Pachisuro Aruze (KanjiKanjiKanji)
---Poketto---
-----------------------------------
BIG KANJI BIG KANJI BIG KANJI

no idea what Pachisuro is, cause it's supposed to be an english word. maybe Pachi throw? i don't know...

Aruze might be referring to the company.

Poketto is almost definitely pocket.

that's about all i can get out of it.

Has anyone played the Pachislot games before? i'm actually very curious if they are interesting games. I've noticed that Wonderswan actually has Pachinko simulations, but the Pachislot stuff doesn't seem like it when all it shows on the cover is an ugly ass slot machine.
