Great art, I love it.

You have never posted something I actually disliked - they are all amazing. Great style, proportions, lines... everything is very good.

Is drawing/design something you do or plan to do for a living? You are seriously talented.

Good work overall, although style-wise, some of them weren't to my liking. I found the Benimaru one to be the best of the lot.

I really like the "messy sketch" quality you have. :)

Which program do you use to color in your work?

I like the line quality of your stuff, but you might need to work on your anatomy, the second Ash drawing doesn't look right. I agree with whoever said the Benimaru drawing was the best of the lot and I think what Pill is trying to say, is that you should drop the anime BS style. Your drawings could be a lot more interesting if you dropped the anime cliches (the eyes, the long curve for a mouth, the small noses, etc). Try to find something more suitable to your line work and a style of your own. Pill should know too, because the stuff he posted was pretty stylized and original. This is all IMO of course.

I like this stuff overall, and I'd love to see more.

I disagree. I think ugly is beautiful alot of the time when it comes to pop art. I like it.
basically I like anything that has soul, and anime stuff usually doesn't unless the artist is someone quite special. otherwise it all looks the same and aims for the same. this is my opinion and I may be missing out on something, but it all looks like fan art to me as opposed to just art. and that's a big problem.

this art is obviously done by someone with alot of talent and the texture work looks very good.

Traditional anime blows. I'm really tired of the piss-poor character designs over in Japan. That's why Shinkiro's work was so awesome compared to "fan-art-guy" Falcoon and, on a larger scale, why the old SNK had so much more style than Capcom, because they mostly avoided the anime crap.

Please expand, i'd love to hear you thoughts

You have skill. You are wasting it. Keep anime in Japan, please.

I like your technique, but you should strive to develop your own style. Drop fakime.

I know you didn't just compare it to grand theft auto art...but to be honest, that stuff is actually pretty slick. And I'm no fan of the GTA series.

I'll take it as a compliment. But if you think it's ugly, then it's just another nail in the coffin for you.

I agree whith you wholeheartedly. japanese art really blossoms when it takes non eastern elements and reinterprets them, the way Shinkiro did. his work was perfect for SNK products. Infact part of the joy of the games was his art.

That's my point, ugly doesn't mean "bad", or done by a talent-less person.

I can admit something is good, even if I don't like it.

I personally hate the GTA art, I hate the style.

I think your art is ugly, pseudo-fat people that looks ugly in detail. You have good drawing skills, but I personally don't like your style.

If you are only 18....go to a real college [not an Art Institute, etc] and they will destroy whatever style you think you have and rebuild your skills from the ground up properly, then you will have a style...which may or may not be similar to what you have now. I know my post-college style is worlds different from when I was in high school. You have skills though....continue to build on them.

This is true....some people are extremely gifted and require no schooling to succeed in an art-related field. This is rare. Hard to get a paying gig in anything art related nowadays though....so not gonna' say you aren't making a wise decision choosing business.

I know this to be true too. I doubt most or any of you have heard of him but that was Oscar Zarate's case (graphic novels/comics). He's a close friend of mine and a mentor. But he was truely lucky. because ability will only get you so far, you need alot of luck too. hence you cannot control the luck part (well to an extent), but you can control your capacity to produce, and studying is therefore quite advisable. one should be humble enough to realize this.
