My g/f spilled some vanilla coke on my neo's adaptor and we waited for it to dry of and nothing it won't turn on. The adapter was shitty before, I had to keep readjusting it. I'm just wondering since my ac adaptor was crappy before so I'm wondering if I just need to buy a new one or or buy a new neo.

You mean the PSU?

If so, its best to get a new one. Check what output it gave. If its the 9-10V at around 1.2A type, it will be ok to use a Genesis PSU. If its the 5V 3A type, get down to radio shack!

Just a note....

I was at Radio Shack last week looking for a replacement Neo Geo adaptor and they didn't have anything close to a 5V 3A AC adaptor. I even asked the tech guy there, he said they didn't carry them and wouldn't be able to order one either. Maybe Radio Shack's website has them though, or maybe US Radio Shacks have them.

Yeah, a MEGADRIVE (genesis) AC will work fine as I had to use one with one of my AES systems before.

I'd say it's ok for a treat once a month maybe, but I wouldn't drink it everyday or every second day like you would a normal coke. I would never buy a 2 litre bottle of it either...waaay too much to drink

Just for the record the reason it didn't work after being dried out is ecause it had sugar in it, when it dries you effectivly have dried sugar shorting out eveything!

I had a Nintendo AC Adapter hooked up to my old Neo Geo way back when. So you can use one of those. By the way, Sugar and Salt do the exact same things. They are both very corrosive and are very bad with anything electronic. That is one reason why it is bad to blow on your games. It is because the salt in your salvia gets on the contacts causing damage. Sugar put into a gas tank will ruin it forever. So a rule a thumb is to never bring anything that is sweet, salty and liquidy anywhere near your Neo Geo.

If you cannot use the Genny adaptor you can use this one from Radioshack 273-1695 and set it to 5 volts. You will have to buy an end that fits into the Neo as the one it comes with is too large (they are interchangeable).

No Nintendo adapter? Maybe that is why my original Neo Geo fried in the first place! I got it at Funcoland and they told me that they did not have a Neo Geo adapter so they gave me a Nintendo one instead. They even gave my a Nintendo R/F adapter as well. The picture quality was no goo either. On the third day that system just gave out on my. I was sad but at least I got my money back.
