My 1 slots playing up...

I put my MVS one slot back in my cabinet (my Hyper 64 was in normally), and now every time I play it the games come on as 2 player. All the switches on the side of the mother board are set to OFF, and the "One credit Versus" is set to without.
My 1 player select button won't work, only the 2 player select button will start a game. I have tested the 1 player select button in the hardware test and it works fine, also I've tried it on my Hyper64 board and it works fine on that too.
Even on games like Samurai Shodown were it gives you the option to select "1P vs COM", it will give me a 1P game but only using Player 2's controls!?
Anyone got any ideas and also what does each switch do one the side of the board (I know 7 is freeplay). Thanks

Well,

To see what each dipswitch is and what is on and off... Go into your test screen and choose Setting Up The Hard Dip... This shows you what they all do. If I am not mistaken I believe they are:

1 Setting/Test Mode
2
3 Communication
4 Communication
5 Communication
6 Communication
7 Free Play
8 Pause

I can't remember what 2 does, I know I have never used 2-6... but I remember that games like Riding Hero, and I believe Kizuna can use these settings to talk to another cab.

As for the one slot working up, all I can suggest is check the edge. Make sure there are no problems with your Edge on your one slot. Clean it with and art gum and some contact cleaner to remove any dirt or corrusion that may have built up. That sure is weird, that it is working in test but not in game. Best of luck man, I am sure it is something simple, you will find it, just poke around.

Thank to Lee and Nruva for your help guys. I made the game start 1 second after it gets a credit and that fixed it fine. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
