Hi Everyone,

I bought a MVS Slot 4 Japenese from a guy in my country (FRANCE). This board was bought directly in Japan. I have the manual in Japanese language and I have a dowloaded one in USA language. So I can make the comparaison. I have the 1 slot MVS manual in USA language. My problem is simple. I have a mono cab (at this moment), when I test the 4x slot I have a strange sound.. The background music is strong and the sound effect are really low and sometime some strange soud effects. I don't know if the board is ok or maybe as the motherboard is mono maybe the board need a STEREO cabinet ?
Or maybe the guy has ever dmaged the board. The guy looks seriously. Someone can help me ?
Thanks a lot (this is my first post. Thanks)

On the 1 slot there is a flip switch which changes from mono to stereo so you can hear the sound perfect in mono without needing to set a stereo cable up,however unfortunately with the 4 slot it does not have a mono switch so it tries its hardest to play stereo on a mono soiund wave and as such the speech is quite and sometimes missing and the sound effects and backround music are tinny as they go from high to low,the worse game this effects is fatal fury 2,its not too bad on last blade though but the only way to get it to play the sound clear is to adapt a stereo socket onto the board, there are alot of experts of pcbs who would know more about this than I but what I do know for a fact is all 4 slots are like this so it is not broken ,thats why I prefer the one slot

I checked up for you,if you go into test mode and select cabinet options on the 4 slot there is an option which can change sound from stereo to mono, try that and the sound should be as cool as it is in the arcade,it is only only some mvs 4 slots though so let me know if it works

Hi,
Thanks to still carry me. Indeed I saw yesterday this option. I had Stereo, left center and right. I don't success put in mono. seems block on stereo ! And yesterday
after testing I sold my mono cabinet and tomorrow I'll have stereo. So now I only can test on a stereo arcade. The test will be definitive. If I have good sound, it will be ok either I will have a 4x broken.
Thanks you very much
