Now as far as auctioning my collection goes, we're starting to get into some of the headier stuff.

Tonight, Metal Slug 3, US AES, goes up on the block. Starts at $9.99! No reserve!! The free market will decide this one.

As per the Market Rules for this forum, according to the Neo-Store rating scale, I would call this cartridge Near Mint. While Near Mint apparently allows for cartridge scratches, this one has none. It HAS been played, so it does have hard to spot but present insertion marks (pics included in auction of insertion marks).

Forum members wanting detailed pictures (each insertion mark) can PM me, and I will try to comply best I can time permitting.

Good Luck and thanks for looking!

I'm gonna miss this one. It the funnest collector's piece I own!! (owned?)

ALSO- check out my other auctions. I've got a complete SNK vs Capcom CHAOS AES, and KOF '98 AES up as well, ending soon. NO reserve.

It's strange... various items are being bid by same nicks, even with a lot of days left.

Even if the seller say there is no reserve at Ebay to avoid Ebay fees, I would like to ask him if he has some internal "reserve price" and he's autobidding (or his friends) to achieve that sum, so if I am interested in an item I can know if the real minimum price is of my interest or not.

I have always been curious if people do this kind of thing on eBay...I am sure it does happened...

Well I can't say I blame you for being curious. However, I can assure you that is simply not the case. Being smart eBay seller that I am, I've made sure my auctions are visible at every popular collectors forum on the Internet.

My first auctions all went to the same person. I of course have no control over that if a new collector wants to buy all my stuff.

That said, why would you necessarily believe me. A dishonest eBay seller would simply deny like I'm doing.

I have a solid reputation and have taken pains to take good care of it. I guess you have to decide for yourself.

Your hypothesis would be a terrible waste of expensive listing and final value fees.

Accusations are cheap and easy.

I guess everyone will just have to make up their own minds. I know the truth.

No, no, I am not accusing you.

I was only asking so if I would be interested on an item, to not loose time if there was a minimal "internal" reserve price which was out of my intentions.

I know some people who do what I said in order to avoid or minimise Ebay fees (and/or to attract potential buyers by a low start price, but knowing price will increase artificially).

If you see retracted bids in the bid history, especially those that are higher than the winning bid, it would certainly raise suspicion.

Totally overprized! Ebay is just crazy:spock:

As far as things go the game is not overpriced - i sold my last copies for over $500 each...BUT already at $510 with over 4 days to go....is a bit weird..usually its around that price in the last few hours of auction end.

Good for you...but that is way too much. I guess it's good to know the economy can't be that bad these days...(for some).

I'm negotiating a 'lot' offer the majority of my remaining NEO collection, so my SSVS unfixed flawless may never hit eBay. We'll see...

Ends today! If any felt like bidding, by all means you are welcome to do so. However I'm not really expecting any further action on this auction.

Do ebay people actually check this forum? Better yet, have they any clue on price guides?

I think people really perceive that its impossible to find Metal Slug games now a days and not to mention that its easier to play ported versions on ps2, xbox and even the ds. I'm guessing the demand is going up because a few collectors have to own the original. That's why there is a bidding war.

It's funny how 2 years ago no one would buy my MS3 which is in the same condition as this one for $300.
