I have totally mastered mr karate now as 3 times in a row now i have beaten the game no continues plus in all 3 occasions i twice got athena and the third time i got to fight red arrema

This game is great when you get use to a certain fighter

a word of note though i never used any special moves whatsoever to finish of shin karate and also his ending is the same whether you beat athena or red arrema

If you can get a good start by kicking red arrema in the head then tripping and repeat this hes pretty easy to beat however if you allow him to send out his minions then you got no chance as they fly on the top of the screen the middle plus walk along the ground.

it does seem a bit strange though as each time i get to fight athena i manage to get my name on the top times list but each time i fought against red arrema i havent

I used MR. Karate quite a bit yesterday (though I wasn't able to complete the game due to the fact that people kept joining in for vs. play). He does seem to have an outstanding selection of moves in comparision to the other characters and his supers are pretty devastating if you're able to connect.

I use to hate that whewn i would be playing a one player game in the arcade with street fighter 2 and someone would put a few coins in the machine so i had to fight them and end up losing to them so i had to move on

in london its the worst as you always got tons of japanese players hogging the kof machines, lucky i dont have to worry about going to the arcades to play new games now or i would just be standing there waiting for ever.

Mr Karate is really good. His exceed attack can be used as a juggle after that D/b charge f+D attack. His uppercut is strong as well.

Mr. Karate is an all around well balanced character. HURRAH!!

To me, Mr. Karate in SVC seems to be an almost perfect blend of KOF2002 Takuma and Ryo. He is well balanced both offensively and defensively, with very few useless moves or major flaws.

From the videos I have seen, his exceed (3 fireballs) does like one whole lifebar of damage right?

I would say riot blood iori as i have lost to him almost 70 percent of the time i have fought against him while shin mr karate and shin akuma are not too difficult as they both have weaknesses
athena and dan i would say are the easiest to beat

If it hits you full on it takes about 80 percent of one life bar down but as the life bar is in two parts you still pretty ok

I moved what you guys said to this topic as i never meant to make a new topic regarding the difficulty level, ok.

My question
Is the game hard on level 8 difficullty. Does it give you a good fight for an AI lee.

It is pretty hard i did get to athena on one of the goes i played it on hard but i guess it was a fluke as the next time i played it on hard i kept losing especially to guile . i would say though its no harder on level 8 than kof94 is on level 4 but then kof on level 4 is pretty tough

the fact though that if you lose and the computer you can fight at 1/3 life makes life a bit easier but i swear if you chose that option the computer cheats on you and becomes like level 20 lol

i guess too it depends who you fight as some are more tricky than others like bison and iori and others like dan and earthquake are pretty easy

Guile is a fucking beast in this game, I fucking hate him. Lost to him SIX straight times in the arcades, however the difficulty had been significantly raised since my previous visit. I guess the operator felt kids were winning too easily and not spending enough money on it.

i would have to agree that iori is the hardest, but the best to fight as it is challenging. mr karate is cheap, but like lee said, easy to beat once you figure the pattern. great game, its almost time home cart guys!

Unfortunately havent played CHAOS yet....

BUT i canNOT wait to use the legendary Mr. Karate

he is one of the greatest fighters EVER especially when he emerges as Mr. Karate, its over as Serious Mr. Karate

i really liked how SNK made him a more significant character

now they just need to do the same to Ryo...=)

These comments may sound rudamentary but I like Mr. Karate's simple but effective artwork, and the moves he does. How he steps before he hits, and does these chain hit things, double kicks in the air. He reminds me of your typical Sensei for some reason.

But dare I ask why his nose is so long and red? What's the story behind that?

Takuma is wearing a mask; he used it to conceal his identity in Art of Fighting. He was forced into kidnapping his own daughter, Yuri, for some evil scheme that Mr. Big was planning. Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia didn’t know it was Takuma when they first engaged him in combat -- I guess they figured he was one of Mr. Big's goons. I guess the mask is a symbol of strength? Maybe someone who is into AOF more than I can give a better explanation, but I believe it was just a costume to conceal his identity from his daughter, etc.

Although they have been lazy and drawn the same nose in the win screens for mr karate and shin karate, atleast on the face itself of the two fighters the nose is different, normal mr karate has a thin nose while shin mr karate has a sausage shaped nose.
Makes me wonder why the didnt just use takuma and shin karate in the game.
