Err, thanks to the power of syndication and Blockbuster and HBO and Cinemax, there were lots of movies made before I was born that made up my childhood. Robocop, T2 and Toxic Avenger, for example. Watched those so many times. PT&A definitely should've been watched by young me.

T2 is a 1991 movie, while Harry Potter came out in 2001...12 years before was 1989...Sage, what are you trying to tell us!?

on a serious note, syndication in Italy still allows to watch 70s/80s/90s anime

The Liability- Dark comedy about a kid that crashes his stepdads car and gets a job as a chauffeur to pay him back. Turns out that he is driving a hitman around, don't want to say too much without getting into spoilers. Solid performance by Tim Roth as always, would recommend.

Represent. It bugs the hell out of me, too.

I tend to judge people who don't use Oxford commas sort of like Richard on Silicon Valley judges his coder girlfriend for using space instead of tab- it's not technically wrong, but it certainly indicates a terrible set of morals and a lack of character.

Oh yeah The Jerk is great but the chemistry in DRS between Martin and Caine is amazing. Forgot about Roxanne also The Man With Two Brains.

The fact that they remade DRS with Anne Hathaway and the fat chick whose name suddenly escapes me is a goddamn travesty. My wife showed interest in seeing that and I told her I'd change the locks on the house if she spent money to see it. Jokingly. Mostly.

John Wick 3 was better than 2. Total action. Easy to just tune anything else out and tunnel in on the movie. Small spoiler, Wick kills a guy with a book. It was better than a pencil.

I didn't mind JW2, but it didn't seem as good as the first. This is good to hear.

I minded JW2. Felt it was a huge fall from JW1. 3 definitely follows the rules of 2, but does a much better job. Very satisfying. One of Mark Decasco's best roles since Brotherhood of the Wolf.

John Wick 3 was mostly about figuring out new ways for the dude to get into conflict and rack up the kill count. Unlike those before me, I rather enjoyed 2 and its expansion into the world/ mythology. I like change of pace and dialogue so this entry wasn't as entertaining to me, it was a lot of action and plenty of oh shit moments on various deaths but it felt kind of tired. I thought the "elder" or whatever the top table dudes name is was a letdown, expected an old wise dude, didn't have my respect or buy-in to the power of the high-table.

There were a lot of cool scenes and a sweet little call-back to the matrix via an underwater shootout.

It ended with me wishing for more of the universe but worth checking out.

Edit**- If you can, I highly recommend buying yourself some breakfast tacos (smuggle them in), go to an early showing, buy yourself a drink (to reduce suspicion). It's the best. 2nd time I've done this (first was my 2nd viewing of endgame).

Fucking breakfast tacos man.

Doomsday
Imagine a movie that opens like resident evil, transitions into fallout 3, then becomes mad max. Somehow this movie did that, and it wasn’t horrible. Just kind of weird. No clue how they got Malcolm McDowell on board for this. Would have been better as a SyFy tv series.

The John Wick movies are fucking retarded. Part 3 had no plot to speak of. Just mindless violence where over-the-hill Keanu lumbers about, offing people much younger and faster in increasingly ridiculous ways for no good reason. But hey, Larry Fishburne is in there for a decrepit Matrix reunion, along some other quality actors chewing scenery and collecting a paycheck.

HEY! I like the John Wick Films...

The first one is better than the second imo... aint had a chance to watch no. 3 yet...

To me it harks back to a time where you could put your brain in neutral and just enjoy the film... for what it is... which is basically an excuse for Keanu Reeves to kill people...

PS. On Topic... just watched Artic with Mads Mikkelsen... Man... that guy can act... His face is as craggy as the scenario....

Brutally realistic...

I watched Keanu Reeves Murder Simulator 2019 as well. Some more terrific fight choreography in this one (dogs vs. nuts, ninjas vs. glass, NBA player vs. book, the amazing knife fight) but I find myself less and less interested in pretty much everything else. The Continental/high table urban fantasy stuff was fun when it was this barely mentioned mysterious thing in the first one but now that they've explained it to death and the mystery is gone, it's nonsensical and stupid. Everyone owes a fucking blood oath but no one else appreciates that. Actions have consequences but everyone's willing to let bygones be bygones after one fight scene. It's all just a flimsy excuse to move John Wick from fight scene to fight scene.

Don't get me wrong... it's still fun and I've always liked Keanu Reeves as the unlikely action movie star. The first movie was just this unique, transformative thing for action movies and the sequels are becoming self-referential spectacle films that you just have to turn your brain off to enjoy.

I love the John Wick movies. They are a blast to watch. Everything I wanted out of The Expendables, John Wick gives me.

In John Wick 3, there is a scene where more knives are thrown in a 2 minute span than may have been thrown in all the rest of cinematic history combined. It was glorious.

Vainglorious, even.

Yeah... The expendables was sorta a dissappointment...

The ensemble cast of old action movie stars should've been perfect for me but it fell flat... Unsure why tbh...

It just didn't feel right...

Oh well, I'll watch John Wick 3 when I have a bit of time...
