MOTW boot works with my Phantom 1!

I just recently discovered that the Garou MVS cart I bought a couple of months ago is a bootleg I opened the cart to give it a cleaning after I began experiencing a very minor graphical glitch on Tizoc's stage. I was shocked to see EPROMS and a lot of bad soldering. I never had any reason to suspect it was a boot cuz I use a Phantom 1 and boots aren't supposed to work with it yet mine worked 100% accuratley. The cart I have looks EXACTLY like the one from this gallery of bootlegs. The cart worked perfectly until recently. How could it have worked at all if the P1 doesn't play bootlegs?

The Phantom-1 does play bootleg games .... I used to have a Phantom-1 and it played all the bootleg games I had fine.

I dont like bootleg games but I have owned a few, recently I bought a pkg deal on Ebay and there are 2 boots. annoyed Im waiting to get another phantom-1 to test them out.

Im not sure why the phantom will play some boots and not others??? Bad ROMS perhaps...who knows.
