Calm down fekkers. It's not out for at least 8 months. No need to rush out and buy a PSP yet.

#2: They'd better leave 2 in there intact, and that includes the slowdown. I consider the slowdown to be part of the game when I think of 2. 2 and X should be billed as separate games, they are similar but not the same.

Spot on, man.

2 without slowdown = fake.

X may have some elements of 2, but I agree that it's a different game, anyone who played both of them long enough can confirm that.

Is anyone waiting for the Gba versions as well or have they been canned, cause playing on one of those on the Micro would be amazing

I was waiting for them with the exact same intention, but I guess this news means that they are looking unlikely now...

Metal Gear Ac!d 2
MLB 06 The Show
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Capcom Classic Collection Remixed

And now every Metal Slug except 6 for the PSP? This is great news!

WTH! PSP is becoming a worthy handheld!

I thought my PSP would forever gather dust after I finished Metal Gear Ac!d. Nice to see this thing get some love. I've always said it was a sexy piece of hardware but my DS has been owning it as far as handheld gaming goes. That looks like it's about to change a bit.

While this sounds like a great deal, I'm just gonna say to just wait and see what the future of this brings in store. I don't have a PSP and I'm not shelling out $300 for that just because Metal-Slug is going to be on it (I'll be very appreciative if they release a DS/GBA version).

They are still bringing out Metal Slug 1 for the GBA, released the same time as the PSP collection. They are billing it and the collection as a celebration of the 10 year anniversary. It's probably a safe bet that Metal Slug 1 will be the only one released on the GBA though as the others would miss the anniversary.

The thing is though, the slowdown experienced in 2 was with the hardware not coping so well with animations happening left right and centre. The PSP is much more powerful than the NEO, and thus unless the developers actually go out of their way to make it slow (which I doubt they will) in specific parts of the game, then it's going to play with no noticeable performance hit, and probably feel overclocked.

I will be mightily pissed if they don't deliver this, even if it does wind up getting delayed (which it no doubt will, if past history is any indication). While they're at it, how about a compilation of Slugs 1, 2 and X for the XBox? It would be nice to have all six Neo Slugs on the XBox. And I certainly hope to see Metal Slug 6 ported to it as well, as well as KOF XI.

Give it up man. 5 portable slugs and you're going to bitch. Hell, fine with me, just makes one more copy for someone else who doesn't give a crap.

The slowdowns more or less are a performance issue but also are helpful for 1cc runs, they've become important parts of gameplay strategy and thus should stay where they are. If you can't stand slowdowns, play X, 3, 4 or 5 instead (there's slowdown in 1 (and X to some extend) as well, it's just not that noticeable).

Dunno why people always want to "improve" something when they port a code from one platform to another. The Slugs are excellent games in every aspect, there's not need to fuck around with the code in any way IMO.

So again, Slug 2 without slowdowns = different game = fake.

IMO, etc.

slug 2's weakest point imo is the slowdown, i for one sure as hell hope they fix this up. if it was just a lil slowdown it woudnt matter(like in 1orX), but 2 has major slowdown issues, it takes away a lot of the fun in the game.

While I guess theres no other way you could make it portable, playing slug using pad controls just won't be the same.

None the less, an awesome idea for a collection. Heres to hoping it will be released within the next year.

Ah hell, I might just import a ceramic white PSP anyway.

Sony must be paying developers to release games that are already established as "t3h r0x0rz" on PSP so they'll get some sales of that PoS... It seems that just about the only thing worth buying on that system is ports, and about 2 or 3 original games, if even that much.

A compilation like this just feels so wrong, especially on PSP considering the fanbase. Portable Metal Slug sounds cool, but I'd rather it be on X-Box or something. (Yes, I know about the current ports).

I wonder what the load times will be like if it ever gets released... :chimp:

IGN has posted a preview of the game.
To summarize, the game has lost nothing in terms of graphics/animation, it has blood (for those who worried), but suffers from horrible collection design and quite bad loading times.

Let s hope everything gets ironed out for the release.

Anyway, i m sad there won t be MSlug 6 in the pack... maybe later... anyway a sure purchase for me. 1-X-3 alone make it worth owning, 2-4-5 are the nuts, cherry and icing on the cake

It sounds to me like the guy was just explaining how doubtful it is that 2 will have the slowdown because the PSP is able to handle it.
It will be interesting to see if the slowdown is left intact or not.
