This sounds like the best news yet, just in time for PS3. So no need to buy a Wii so I can get all of the Metal Slug games on my TV without sketchy emulation.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but this is also on IGN's release schedule now as well, currently set for November 14th:

So I am guessing with the release of SFAA and MSA Sony USA has reconsidered their stance on 2D games for the PS2. If only this meant we would be getting everything else that has been missed out on (Ex: KoF XI, the collections). :/

Sweet! Music to my ears.
Yet another reason for me not to buy a wii (and get more mileage out of my ps2)

Hmm, I wonder why the Xbox is being shunned... Guess I have to start lookin for a PS2 now. Oh well, beats waiting for the Wii to drop in price.

I'm so glad we will get ps2 version of Metal Slug Anthology....

But question is that we already got MS3, 4 and 5 on PS2.........
That's fucked up ........:emb:

And X (PS1), 6 and 1 (imports along with 3). Nice having the whole compilation in one package though, I wonder how many discs it's gonna be... hopefully one.

Uh.. Well officially we (as in we living in the North America) only have Metal Slug 4 and 5. Because three was never released here... And a lot of us don't have modchips, so this is nice.

I'd like to know if by any chance the Metal Slug 1 ending is the same as the one on the japanese playsation versus the mvs ending. I liked the ending music on the playstation version.

You mean that "Friendship Forever" song (or whatever the hell the actual title is)? It's on all CD versions actually (Neo-CD, Saturn and PSX). But hey, the cart version has karaoke!

Sorry dude, but those of us in North America did get Three. Here is the review by IGN. It says also availible for PS2. You must be living without the internet to miss a multi-system release.

Mod chip isn't even neccesary for the PS2. Swap Magic hasn't faulted yet, except on one Densha De Go game, but I don't have 3.6.

Sorry, it won't let me edit the post. PS2 version never hit North America. Sorry.

Try ending the game with 2 players with the MVS cart.

Metal Slug 3 did NOT come out in North America for PS2. SCEA nixed it.
I'll be buying this Anthology release (and farting in Sony's general direction).

I hope the port of MS6 is as good as the import version. It seems the Japanese always get the better ports. Oh well, I'll be buying it anyways because me loves t3h slugs.

is it just me or have i not seen SNK (japan or usa) mention anything for a ps2 release officially?

i feel like ebgames website might have gotten it wrong or something.....

i somehow don't buy it, but it would be a smart move from snkp.

According to the Gamestop website the PS2 version got delayed until December, delaymore strikes again! Maybe they want to promote the Wii and PSP versions a little before the PS2 version comes out

Yeah.. December 1st is now listed as the ship date. They're really starting to get into that Working Designs territory, aren't they?
