People still play GG?

I used to play this game religiously on DC in mid 2000's..
Once I get my DC hooked up to my MVS cab GGX will be permanently on deck :D

Garou MOTW is fun but I have yet to master the combos..

Haha still bumping this old thread? :P

Anyways...I personally never understood SF3: 3rd strike's greatness, while MOTW kept me in front of my 1slot-mvs+supergun combo for hours and hours back in the days. Maybe it's time to hunt down a copy for the AES... ;)

^ Personally I feel SF3 is all about a Capcom game perfectly blending into a SNK style game. Very specific timing. Punishments for zoning. While still keeping certain aspects user friendly (parry by pushing forward, Simple command supers).

MOTW did the flip flop as well, but the main problems I saw for it was by the time SNK released MOTW 3rd Strike was out. That was 3 versions by Capcom to fine tune what they have made. It was almost an unfair fight. The MOTW roster was smaller (cause it was the 1st game). Just defend wasn't liked as much as parries cause players seemed to like the offensive advantages of a parry rather then pushing back on the just defend (as a general observation. personally I preferred just defend). 3rd Strike tweaked their roster according to fans wishes to bring back Chun Li and a Guile like character. MOTW didn't have any sequels to decide who should be brought back. Lastly it was a new fight game engine so there were bugs, that people exploited and since updates back then really didn't happen, a lot of gamers dissed MOTW for the better polished 3rd Strike.

Mark of The Wolves was one of my first SNK games. I remember playing Capcom vs. SNK (because I played Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and CVS was the new game at the time), and loving all of the SNK side characters. I started looking up the games where all the characters were from and voila, found some great titles. Mark of The Wolves was being sold at a Babbages (or Funcoland) and I remember picking that up, passing on KOF Evolution.

Playing through arcade mode with all of the characters was a joy. What a wonderful game; for the casual and hardcore alike.

This...this is quite a thing we have here. It caresses my heart to know that so much necroposting can occur for such a simple topic.

Yes MOTW is a great game, played it in the arcade, had it on Dreamcast, and now I run it on my XBOX 360. Blasphemy, I know....

The Dreamcast version displayed at 480i instead of 240 right? Also, the Dreamcast version's video appears stretched.

haha well , its good to bring up old threads every now and again.

Animation on MOTW is not quite as good as Third Strike, but it's very very good. The only disappointment for me was the small size of the characters, but this is probably because of the huge number of animation frames - if they were bigger they would take up a lot more space. i dont want them AOF-big but just a bit larger would have been good. Really nice backgrounds too and great music!

I played the Dreamcast version before i had the Neo Geo one, and i wasnt very impressed - it seemed to be inside a window on the main screen from what i can remember. Also Neo Geo graphics on Dreamcast didnt seem very impressive at the time. I just like playing on Neo Geo better i guess.

I also have the XBLA version, which you can play online but there's never anyone to play against. I think the XBLA version is a very good conversion but i havent compared them directly. MOTW used to my favourite fighting game on Neo Geo but i prefer Breakers Revenge now. I am a little ashamed to say that because its clearly a Capcom-style fighter. Closest thing to Streetfighter you will get on Neo Geo though.
