Just imagine Leon The Professional being a spiritual prequel to La Femme Nikita.

After the events of Leon, Mathilda sinks into depression and without parental guidance she turns to drugs. She then uses Leon's hard earned mob-hit-money and befriends a bunch of loses who blow through the money to feed the monkeys on their backs. They then decide to rob a store to get more drug money. During the robbery, she murders a cop and is forced to become a government agent.
