Looks like a Neo Geo Everdrive (Krikzz) is in the works

Krikzz knows there will never be a better time than the end of this year to release one, as long as he makes sure it's AES+ compatible. I've got a Backbit Plat for my MVS, I'm good but I'm sure an Everdrive for AES would make a lot of people happy.

Thats interesting. Wondering if he'll add NeoCD support.

Evie said they aren't interested in it much, but some guy on the Backbit boards is going on about how hes planning on "making an MVS port" of SSRPG.

If Krikzz does do that and the cost isnt absopootly insane, I can switch. If not, I can continue to play SSRPG on the MiSTer.

Support for CD tracks would be a cool touch, even tho some games sound better on chip tunes.

SSRPG was programmed from the ground up for the CD, I can't imagine making it work on MVS would be easy, almost have to start from scratch. I'd def play it on my MVS if possible though

One has to see if it is possible to emulate the CD-ROM drive through the cartridge. For example Turbo Everdrive Pro does play CD games through a "HuCard".

Mega Drive Pro does the same for Sega CD games, been thinking of upgrading just for that but don't know if I'd use that function enough to justify the cost. I can only play Snatcher so many times.

I was in the same situation as I'm that big a fan of the Mega CD catalogue but once Black Friday sales came, I finally got my self a Mega Everdrive Pro and all those sweet shmups with killer OSTs suddenly made the price feel justified :giggle:

A Neo Everdrive would do well to be as budget-friendly as possible compared with the other options. A 'Pro' version that gets the NGCD support right would also be epic.

Agreed. As far as I know and have seen people mention (like our own resident Alec here) that its not possible, so I have no idea what these people trying to do it are on about.

Someone (possibly Evie) mentioned it could be done in "chapters." So maybe 3 "games" one with each scenario or something. No idea. Honestly at least we have Deuce's translation and we can play it on real NeoCDs or MiSTer.

Yes, the AES Plussers would have a heart attack seeing what Neo Geo flash carts (even MVS ones) cost.

The NeoSD Pro NGCD support is so close to being good. It feels like it's just an update and a half away if someone were able to put in the effort.

I'd definitely get an Everdrive for home console over the other muti cart options.

Not sure I would want a flash cart, but always good to have the option.

A flash cart for the AES+ might feel redundant for me since I own a SuperStation One (MiSTer device), so I don't really need another way to just play da romz.
