Hi everyone,
I am looking for I game which I played in the early nineties or late eighties.
It was somthing of a political/military simulation. You were, as far as I can remember the head of state of Israel and had to make descisions on where to deploy your troops and how to improve your relationship with other states, including the U.S. which gave you military aid from time to time.
Anyone remember this?

And there was an other one, I think it was from Microprose, where you were leading an anti-terrorist unit, you had to wiretap appartments and eventually fight in them, from a top-down view, throwing grenades and shooting in real-time.

Sounds like George Bush used to have a career in software.

Nope, it was not X-COM, which was kind of a 3D (isometric) view. The one I mean is a lot older and had just top-down. And it ran on a 286.
(On a side note - I did get kind of distracted by your sig greedostick)

Moved this thread to Unrelated, you'll get more replies here.

About the second game, could that be Airborne Ranger? It came out in the late 80s, had it for C=64 and found it quite cool.

Fine with me. :)
No, I don't think it was Airborne Ranger, since it was more of covered ops than military. You were fighting against the Red Army Faction, IRA, Action directe and other terrorist groups.

*update
You put me on the right track, though! The game is

Sid Meier's Covert Action.

One more to go...
