Why not just get reproductions?
at least in the case of the marquee and panel overlay, they are gonna be better than most originals you can find.

and what's up with the popeye stick? usually they can be refurbed pretty well.

the popeye stick doesn't return real well to center, i took it out tonigth and put some lube in the bearing area and compressed aired it to help, it seems to be a bit more responsive and doesn't stick in a direction.

I will look into the reproductions on the cpo and marquee, i like original stuff but might go that route.

you can get a new spring and rebuild parts for nintendo joysticks from Mike's Arcade (www.mikesarcade.com)

However as someone who's owned like 10-12 Nintendo cabs over the years, my suggestion is just pull the joystick, strip it down and really clean it. Nintendo joysticks are kinda sloppy and loose to begin with, but originally they used like a white lithium grease on the spring and internals. Over the years it hardens and turns into like mushy play-doh. Clean all that old $hit off and they will work great.

This.
take that shit apart, scrub it, dry it, lube it.
don't be afraid to let it soak.

back to the CPO and Marquee, I always recommend game on grafix if you decide to go the reprinting route.
plus, so many people rebuild DK cabs that the original CPOs and Marquees that are available are generally B grade at best.
My employer has something like 8 DK/popeye/nintendo vs/etc cabs, and most of them are...... rough to say the least
